Some foods are better for constipation than others; however, these are more to prevent it rather than cure it, though that's equally important.

FOODS TO EAT TO AVOID CONSTIPATION:

1. Prunes
2. Oatmeal
3. Apples
4. Pears
5. Figs
6. Any greens
7. Beans/peas
8. Whole grain/rye bread
9. Coffee (make sure you drink water too)
10. Ripe bananas (unripe bananas actually cause it!)
11. WATER!!! That's the most important thing to do! Most people need half their body weight in liquid each day, and drinking water softens your stool! (It also gives you good skin and good health.)

WHAT NOT TO EAT:

1. Unripe bananas
2. Red meat
3. Fast/processed food
4. Alcohol
5. White rice
6. Refined sugar
7. Chocolate :(

Even the way you sleep has an effect on your poop regularity—studies show that sleeping on your left side is better for your digesting.
