A long, long time ago there was a young boy born into a wealthy family with many siblings but he was not wanted as his parents wanted a girl and so they abandoned him. His nanny was left to raise him until she too abandoned him after she decided that he was too much of a burden. The young boy was put on the streets, scared and alone constantly terrified at everything that went bump in the night, he had to steal to survive. He struggled to sleep and when he did sleep he slept for days on end. Sometimes he'd go to sleep on an empty stomach. The boy slept through sleet and snow, he had many close encounters with death. During the coldest days and nights of winter was when he really struggled, he was so cold that he could barely move, his fingers and toes numb from frostbite, his nose red and sore from the nasty cold he'd endure. Nobody ever looked the boy's way, they didn't care, nobody cared for the boy. If people did see him they'd simply turn a blind eye especially if the boy asked them for food or money, people were cruel and did not care if the boy lived or died.
On the boy's 9th birthday his birth parents found him and took him home after apparently changing their minds about him as they suddenly decided that they did want him. They introduced the boy to his siblings who were so graciously waiting for the day their brother would return as they had been devastated when their parents gave him away. The boy was skeptical yet happy that his birth family actually wanted him until he of course met his younger sister, the girl had been born a year after him and his parents adored her like his other siblings but he felt left out. He didn't feel right being there and he was jealous of his little sister because his parents kept her while they tossed him away like he was nothing. The boy yearned and yearned for the affection of his parents but he was shown no love from his parents despite how many times he asked for it and his siblings were no better, they barely acknowledged him after a week. At night when his parents and siblings were sound asleep he'd sit in his bed and cry until there was no tears left for him to cry. Sometimes at night he'd look up into the sky and plead to the wishing stars that fell from the sky, wishing for his family to love him, wishing that he didn't feel so alone but night after night of crying and constant pleading, his faith dwindled into nothing.
His parents and siblings could never understand how he felt or the horrors he went through of having to live and struggle to survive on the streets because his parents didn't want him when he was a baby. The boy didn't feel like he was a part of the family and in someways he wasn't, his parents and siblings didn't know him and they didn't seem to want too know him. He felt invisible, he didn't feel like a boy with a family. He felt like an orphan which is basically what he was and he grew to accept that he was an orphan and his parents taking him back wasn't going to change that for he would always be an orphan at heart. He had the emotional and mental scars of an orphan, his heart was filled with nothing but sadness and disappointment just like an orphan.
One day when the boy was 12 years old he overheard his parents talking and he discovered the only reason they wanted him back was because his father was running to be the governor and he wanted people to vote for him. During hearings people would constantly ask questions about the child they did not raise and they grew tired of it so they came up with a lie. His parents told people that their son had been stolen and had searched high and low for their baby boy but gave up as they found no sign of their son and believed him to be dead. People fell for the lie and sympathized for the couple and they voted for his father, the boys parents pretended to be devastated about their sons disappearance until one day a woman stepped forward and wanted to try and mend the family. The woman set out to find the couples son which quickly got their attention and so they sent out their best people to find their son before the woman did.
