She was only a fourteen year old girl
finally feeling like something could change
surely three years is enough
of the bus boys hideous game
She sits with a friend
holding her hand
at the desk of the headmistress
surely she would understand
They explain the situation
how the boys liked to play them like toys
begging for help, for an out
she tries not to crack
the friend at her side helping her do just that
The headmistress listens
nodding along
says she'll do something about it
that they won't feel unsafe for long
But when the girls leave
with hope things will finally change
as the office door closes
so does the headmistresses file
and she throws the issue away.
