ok so I was pretty buzzed to listen to it bc obviously it's ariana grande and whatever. I've never been so dissapointed in my life. Everyone made such a big deal about it and especially ariana hyped it up too much and now has dissapointed way too many people. I've got a couple reasons why I'm annoyed:

1. The whole album sounds unfinished and rushed

2. Ariana is the singer known for her 4 octave voice + whistle register and yet she's using it for talking/rapping on every. single. song. I get that she's sick and tired of the vocally impressive songs and she's trying to move forward but sis you've missed a couple of steps.

3. The features are terrible. Yes Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliot and Nicki Minaj are so called "legends" but the feature songs have failed so badly

4. The songs don't fit each other.
Normally in an album when the artist has a specific 'vision' for it, or a certain emotion that they're going for with the album, the songs don't sound the same but yet they still give the same emotion and you can clearly tell what the artist was trying to create (which is a good thing) but with Sweetener, the songs are literal duplicates of each other and don't usually fit her voice well at all.

so that was 4 reasons that I could think of, of why I think sweetener has failed and is why it is not her best album, if not worst album yet. don't get me wrong though, there are a few songs that are nice and again, I'll list them bc I feel like they didn't get any justice. they don't deserve to be on this trash album.
