calum doesn't answer the question right away and a shiver runs through him as the question hangs in the air. he can feel how tense ashton is under his head.

"and why would i ever do that ?" calum asks finally, "you've helped me find me again. you've helped me accept myself and love myself for who i actually am. all while falling in love with you all over again."

ashton is surprised. he sits up, throwing calum off of his chest with a gasp and whispering that he had no idea what he was talking about.

calum laughed softly and pulled him closer, leaning their foreheads together for a few seconds before leaving a gentle kiss on his lips.
