The science of things never interested Richard. Why do people do what they do? He didn't care.
For example, why was his best friend grinding on a total stranger right now?
He didn't care.
He rarely cared about anything these days anyways.
Not his classes, not his grades, nothing.
Okay maybe he did care about his car. Just the car. And just a little bit.
He watched his friend whisper in her ear as they danced. The girl seemed to like it. He could see her smiles from here.
Soon his hand was her waist and he was pulling her aside. Probably to make out by the dark corner behind the bar.

Richard groaned. Downing the remainder of the drink in his hand, he pulled out his phone to text Mark.

Find your way home, deepshit.
He texted.

He was bored. He didn't expect Mark to text him, no he probably had his tongue down the stranger girl's throat and had no idea where his phone was.

He weaved through the crowd quite effortlessly, fishing out his keys, he headed for the underground carpark. Finally finding his car, a black Range Rover, he got in and started up the engine.

He wasn't drunk, nope... Slightly buzzed maybe but definitely, definitely not drunk. He'd had two maybe three drinks. Nothing more.

He drove out of the car park heading towards the toll gate that would take him back into the island.
He groaned. He was bored. Mark had suggested they check out this new club on the mainland. Richard hated the mainland, but he went anyways, only for Mark to leave him to go get his dick wet.
He wasn't mad though.
He was just... Frustrated.
He'd been living this island, high class life since he was born, and now he was just sick of it.
It was his final year at Caleb University, he wasn't even sure he would graduate this year, but he couldn't be bothered.

He was tempted to dial Vanessa's number or Bukky's, but he wasn't in the mood. He'd rather just fuck and leave than try to make conversation about things he didn't even care about. He wasn't ready to be annoyed.

When he finally pulled into his driveway, it was almost 2am. It wasn't unusual for him though, there were days he was pouring himself into bed at dawn.

The next morning he was woken up by the sound of knocking on his door. Technically it had already been morning when he'd gotten home, so he'd been asleep for barely four hours.

"What is it?" he called out to whoever was behind the door.

"Your parents want to see you downstairs for breakfast" the voice said.

Mama Grace. He sighed. The woman had been a member of their household for years now. She was fifty maybe sixty. He didn't know. She was nice and she made the best meals.

"Yes Mama Grace. I'm going"

"Now son" she insisted

He got up from the bed groaning, he walked to the door and unlocked it. There was no way he was letting Mama Grace stand outside his door.

"Come in"

"Good morning to you too"

"Morning Mama Grace" he said walking into his bathroom to brush his teeth as she took a seat on one of the armchairs in there room.

"You came home earlier than usual last night" she noted

"I got bored. Why were you even awake by then Mama?" he asked, his voice muffled

"No reason. Did you drink?"

"Not much" he replied rinsing his mouth.

"You drove your self home" she said simply.
