The shit hole that Mark had chosen this night did not suit Richard's mood today. Was he going to tell him that? Hell no

He needed to be out and right now it didn't really matter where.

He took out a cigarette from the pack on the table. He put it at the corner of his lips and gestured to Mark who threw the lighter to him. They had this semi telepathic communication going on and Mark liked to feed off of it.

"Seriouly what's going on?" Mark asked him. Richard sighed as he puffed out a cloud of smoke.
"What did you do?"  Mark pressed

"Why am I the one that has to do something?" Richard asked angrily

"Because you're you,  Richard" Mark said

Richard shook his head.

"You don't want to talk about it, that's fine. Let's get high" Mark said and Richard chuckled.

"She can't have children" Richard blurted out

Mark tapped his cigarette on the edge of his tray like he hadn't heard a thing the Richard had said. Richard did not repeat himself. He knew Mark had heard him.

Mark sighed, rolling the cigarette between his fingers, "Do you want to have children? "

"I never even thought about it before. I was so worried about not getting anybody pregnant"
Richard stated, "but now I'm married"

"You want to have children" Mark stated,"you want to have children with Rahmat"

Richard downed whatever liquid gasoline was in the glass wordlessly shifting it forward and signalling for another drink to one of the servers nearby.

"Why did you leave her home alone?"

"I didn't.  Her friends are there"

"Are you an idiot? Her friends are going to leave eventually and she'll be alone."

"I'm not an idiot.... I just needed to think"

"Are you going to leave her" Mark asked

"No. No. Why would I do that? "

"That's what she probably thinks right now."

"She doesn't think that. I told her..."

"What? That you didn't care ? That she should not worry right? So you think that that would automatically clear her fears. She's a human being,  Richard borrow some sense, you don't exactly have an excellent track record with women. Right now she probably thinks that you're going to cheat on her or leave her or resent her for the rest of your marriage which might I add hasn't even begun."

Richard sighed pressing the cigarette butt down on the table and throwing it on the floor.
He hated times like this when Mark actually acted like a grown up and made sense.
"Gimme the weed" he said

"No, what are you going to do with it?"

"Use it as fuel for my car... what type of question is that?"

"You're not going to drive home semi drunk and high, " Mark said handing the tiny ziplock bag filled with blunts to him

"I'm not" he said sliding the bag into his pocket. He checked the time on his phone. Quarter past ten."I'm going home"

"I'll be there in the morning " Mark said

"No you won't" came  Richard's reply

"Why?" He asked

"Because I'm married, tomorrow is a Sunday and I want to be alone with my wife"

"It can't be Rahmat because she loves having me there"
