A/N: As promised there's gonna be a lot of Birdflash in this chapter! Yes!!! I'm sorry I haven't been very active, but my Wattpad's been acting up lately and it's driving me nuts! I did request to get the issues fixed, so I'm hoping they will. In the meantime, I'm hoping it'll let me publish this and keep it, while on the website... I hope you guys really enjoy this chapter, as I think I edited pieces of it several time to make it perfect!

After a while, I carefully found a way to let him continue to sleep, while I got up. I left his head in the crook of a couple pillows, and I had to admit, he looked so adorable and cute just sleeping there. It was no secret to myself that I actually had fallen in love with him, and his curious, sweet, and smart personality, but everyone in the League knew he was with Artemis. So I just had tried to play the part of the super best friend, all the while it feeling like I was getting cut with shears, every time I saw him and her together. I desperately wanted him to love me like that. I knew he did, actually, but he too, was caught in a world where no one would understand how we felt. So, before I got up, I kissed him on the forehead, and ran my fingers though his thick red hair. Our forbidden love had to remain between us, when he and I secretly could just talk and maybe share that kiss we were always thinking about. He vibrated a bit, when I touched his hair, which made me happy. At least that part of him was normal.

Once I was up, I walked out into the hall, and heard Barry's, Rudolph's, and Mary's voices. Hiding behind the wall, I heard Mary say, "He hardly eats, Barry. When he does, it's small things. We've tried to do everything. I even once tried to make this feast of everything he likes, but he kind of just ate a small bit, and pushed the rest away. I don't know what's wrong with him." Then I realized that Wally was faking being okay. He was trying to not make his parents worry, even though he still wasn't okay. I silently treaded back into the room he was in, and closed the door. He was still sleeping, when I got in. Taking off my sneakers, I climbed up beside him, and said, "Your parents are worried, Walls. I don't know why you told me you were okay. They said you aren't eating much, like usual." I noticed his eyes open, and he mumbled, "Ugh, Dick..." I said, "I'm here, Walls. I'm here." He got closer, and wrapped his arms around me. Even though I was younger than he, I was taller. I held him close, and let him stay. He said, his voice mumbling even more, "You know I so want to have a kiss now, right? We are alone." I chuckled, and said, "Your wish is my command.", then reached over and kissed him, right on the lips. He smiled afterwards, and said, looking up at me, "They can't know..." I responded, looking down, "I know they can't know, Walls. Bats would freak if he knew I was gay and kissing Flash's nephew." Wally said, sitting up, "And Uncle Barry would nearly run me down to the psychological part of the hospital again, and say that I was crazy for loving a Bat or a guy like this..." As I was sitting there beside him, Wally put his hand in mine. It was warm and gentle. Finally, I looked up, and saw his eyes again. "So we can't say a word about this still? I've been in the closet too long, and I think Artemis is starting to suspect it too.", he says, with concern. I responded, "If we come out as me being gay and you bi, then it won't work. We need to have the right time." The ginger nodded, and looked at me. I hated being so careful about it all, but if anyone knew...

A few minutes later, after some silence, I heard Wally say, "Uh Dick?" I looked back at him, and asked, "What is it?" He said, "I need your help. Can you help me get back into that wheelchair?" I nodded, and stood up. Pulling off the covers, and bracing him, I helped the ginger stand, and slide into the awaiting seat. He smiled when we had success, and kissed me once more, then wheeled off. I followed, and we went out of the room. I noticed he headed towards the noises and voices. He wheeled into the room, and I heard Mary say, "Wally, how are you doing?" He responded, "I'm alright. I just need Dad's help. Please?" I noticed him gesture towards the bathroom. Rudolph immediately got up, and the two disappeared, leaving me in the living room with Barry and Mary.

I sat down on the couch, and Barry said, "So they're thinking of trying to fit Wally with a prosthetic leg, so he can walk around more, and do less sitting." I asked, "Are you sure he's ready for that? It's been only a couple months since the fire and the accident." Mary said, "If he were to get up more, his eating habits may improve like before. I know you heard me tell Barry and Rudolph how he's been eating much less lately." I grimaced, and wondered how she knew. I thought that with my training as Nightwing, I never would have been heard. She answered my thoughts, saying, "I knew and heard you because I'm his mother. He never got anything past me as a kid. Ice cream in his room, late night snacks and everything... I knew he would eat snacks and take stuff into his room, just because he did have to, and still has to, fill his stomach with a lot of things, to keep his metabolism up." Barry added, "Even if he's not moving physically as before, his whole body is still in speedster mode. He can be sitting, and still burning, but they want to get him up. Get him walking." I nodded, understanding the situation. The room was silent for a few more minutes, then I heard the bathroom door, open. Wally rolled out, and Rudolph behind him, then they came into the living room again. Looking at my watch, I realized I had to get back to Gotham in time for patrol with Tim and Bruce. Thankfully, Bruce had allowed me to retake up my role as leader of The Team, as well as patrol and training. I said, standing, "Well, I hate to say this, but I think I had better be going." Wally nodded, and said, "I'll get him outside." Mary nodded, and she, Barry, and Rudolph disappeared into the kitchen.

We got outside, and were alone, just the two of us, again. I smiled at the ginger before me, and leaned down, kissing him. He smiled back, and said, "I'm assuming patrol duty for tonight?" I nodded, and he said, "Okay. Dick, I love you, you know that?" I chuckled and said, "I think we've said that to each other more times in the last few months, than we ever did as kids." 'Well, times have changed. With Central City, Keystone City, Bludhaven, and Gotham all getting approved for same sex relationships to be legal, we now have a better chance of acceptance. We weren't able to say anything when we were thirteen and fifteen. Then I got with Artemis, and now we do have the chance to be together. And time is short. You know that. The Team just thought we were best friends, but we did give a few signs... The constant hand touching and holding, the fact that I was the first person to know your real identity, as well as other different reasons, like when I gave you that piggyback on the mission, and held your hand as we disappeared into the void during the mental training exercise." I smiled at his words, and knew they were very true. All the while we had fooled everyone, and made it look like we were best friends, but behind closed doors, we really did care for each other in a way that was more stronger than a friendship. Getting on my knees, I leaned over, and kissed him gently, and brushed back a few strands of hair from his eyes. I grabbed his face in my hands, and kissed him. I loved it, almost as much as I knew I loved him. He pulled away, and I stared into his emerald orbs that made my own blue ones shake with a passion. He said, "I had better get back inside, before my parents come out here and see us touching and kissing. And you have patrol. Good luck, Dick. Go be the most handsome vigilante in Gotham, and be my hero." I nodded, and watched him wheel himself back inside, and close the door.
