curtains of blatant depthless rain
are depressingly beautiful
than an acclaim with less pain
to be nothing more than stiff tears
grant me mercy for my frail frame
it's a film of virtue wasted
combed with a fixed, smoldering blame
to be nothing more than stiff tears
I'm an obsolete bleak color
caught in a flamboyant picture
I hope, my fear, I can smother
to be nothing more than stiff tears
a vibrant smear of youthful dreams
matching an endless dripping beat
indulge and forget all that seems
to be nothing more than stiff tears
