For anyone that's confused by what I meant when I said "when referring to":
You only capitalize the word when you're directly referring to it.
Example:
If your character's a runner and they're talking about the maze they can just say
"So today in the maze I realized something"
But if they're referring directly to the maze:
"I'm gonna need to go to the Maze in a few minutes"
Idk if this made any sense but basically, there's a difference.
