My home. Three weeks I've been in my home, I have the only key. I have a routine, I know what to do, I'm safe.
Every day I wake up in Rowans arms, I make him breakfast and then Cordelia comes to give me my pills. Rowan goes to work at the garage and Socket comes to watch over me, I even managed to speak to Socket after a few days.
Rowan comes back after work, he'll always come back and I make him food before we spend our evenings together watching a movie or curled up in bed. I know what to do now and there's no more Daddy, I pick what I do now, I feel happy.
"You alright there Beautiful?" Rowan asks looking down at me, I've just woken up wrapped him his arms
"I'm happy." I say looking up at him. His face lights up in a big smile and he holds me tighter
"That's good Beautiful." He replies. I tilt my head up and he leans down to me until our lips meet. I reach up and run my fingers through his hair as our lips move as one, tongues tasting each other
"I gotta get to the clubhouse, but I'd rather stay in bed with you." He says looking into my eyes
"Let me make you breakfast first." I say moving to get off the bed
"I don't have time, but make sure you eat something." He says sitting up, he's been bugging me about eating a lot lately, I know I don't eat much but I eat enough, Daddy didn't want me to get fat so I'm just used to eating like I do.
I sit back on the bed watching him get dressed. He walks around the bed and pulls me to stand in front of him, he gives me one last kiss before I follow him to the front door. I lock it behind him and watch as he walks to the clubhouse. I wave at Socket as he sits down on the porch and head to sit on the couch.
Right on time Cordelia knocks on the door
"Morning Indigo, got your pills" she says as I let her in and she sits on the couch.
"Morning Cece" I reply as I move to sit next to her. I take my pills, I don't get checked if I take them anymore.
"I haven't got anyone at the clinic while we're on lockdown so I thought I'd come catch up with you, How you doing?" She asks trying to make herself comfortable with a watermelon under her shirt
"I told Rowan I'm happy because I think I am. I know what to do now and I have the key." I say touching the keys on the long chain around my neck.
"The key is important isn't it?" She asks
"Daddy always had the key, when he died I took it from him. Now I have it. Only I can open it." I say holding the keys.
"What happened to your dad?" She asks as I think back to that day, the day I thought I was free
"He came home from work and the routine was different, he wanted me to make dinner first, it confused me so I burnt the chicken. I had to be punished but I resisted, I don't know why. He dragged me upstairs for punishment, but he looked sick and then he passed out. They said it was a heart attack." I remember him lying on the floor by my bedroom door, he didn't move so I took the key before I called 911.
"You said he wanted to eat first, what did you normally do before you cooked for him?" She asks
"Daddy said I can't tell people that. I told Rowan, he got angry and left when I told him, but he came back. He'll always come back." I say smiling, thinking of Rowan
"I won't get mad, you don't have to tell me but I want to help you to try and get past it, I used to have terrible nightmares about my past but they're completely gone now. I want you to be free like I am." She says taking my hand in hers. Everyone trusts her, Rowan, Knuckles, everyone. She's been very nice to me and she knew what I needed as soon as I got here. I take a deep breath
"Daddy didn't have Mom anymore so I had to take her place. He used to come home from work and take me to bed, then I would cook for him. In return he kept me safe, it's not safe outside. He locked me inside so I was safe. I never wanted to go outside but I wanted to leave my bedroom so I took the key, now I have the key." I look over to her waiting for her to get mad or tell me I'm lying and I'm crazy
"I completely understand. You know before I met Killer I had something happened to me and I was a completely different person." Cordelia spent a long time with me telling me all about her past. She went through so much and yet she's so strong. She said I'm not crazy. She left to go and see Killer and I curled up on the couch again, lighting a cigarette. Rowan knocks on the door and I run over to open it
"You're early, you're meant to be at the garage for another 3 hours." I say wrapping my arms around him, he closes the door and wraps his arms around me, he leans down for a soft kiss before we move over to the couch
"I have to go on another run tonight, so I thought I would spend the afternoon with you instead of at the garage." He says as I sit on his lap
"Ok, I'll wait in bed for you." I reply, it's only a small change to the routine but it's ok because he always comes back.
"I told Cordelia about my Dad and she didn't get mad or call me crazy" I say wrapping my arms around his neck
"That's good. I told you you aren't crazy" he says smiling
"She said she can help me get passed it. I could be normal, you could have a normal girl. I could go outside with you." I say imagining being normal and dating
"It doesn't matter, you're perfect to me Beautiful." He says turning me so I straddle his hips
"Maybe we could even go further than kissing" I say burying my face in his neck, I feel my cheeks heat up
"We will, you know I want to but I want you to be ready, after all you've been through you deserve to go slow." He places his hand on my cheek and moves me until our lips meet. We spend the afternoon kissing and wrapped in each other's arms. I cook for him before he leaves. I don't want him to but he has to.
I change into my pyjamas and get into bed when there's a knock on my door, he must be finished early. I run to the door but I don't know the man there
"Open the door bitch." He growls at me through the glass. I grip my key, only I can open it. I run and grab my cell but before I can call anyone the window next to me smashes and two men climb in
"Should've opened the door bitch." The scary man says
"Get the fuck away from me. I'll kill you." I shout trying to run away but they grab me, he rips the key from my neck and opens the door. I see Socket lying on the floor bleeding as they carry me out. I scream for Cordelia but remember she's staying at the clubhouse, I was desperate to be alone so I was safe and now I'm in more danger than ever. They load me into the back of a van, slam the doors and I feel the van begin to move as they speed away.
