Ben POV

TIE fighters were shooting blasts  everywhere, the beams bright against my eyes. People are running for cover while Rey and I try and fight back as many stormtroopers as possible. "We won't be able to defend ourselves from TIE fighters using our lightsabers!" I shout at Rey over the noise of the blasters. Her eyes light up and it looks like she has an idea. She runs off leaving me there blank. "Rey!" I run after her leaving the noise and fight behind me.

She leads me to a cliff facing over the ocean. I see chubby porgs everywhere, taking care of their young over the clear blue ocean...where an old ship lies at the bottom.  Rey closes her eyes and concentrates, attempting to move the rustbucket, and it budgea ever so slightly. I do the same and together we try to lift it up above the water and onto land.

I can feel the tension in my forehead as my eyes scrunch up in concentration. Slowly the noises around me die out and all I can feel is the Force and Rey within it. She's tense and she's concentrated, but our combined use is still not enough to lift the old ship.

Then I hear the lightest footsteps. A soft sound coming up behind me and a faint presence in the Force, getting stronger as seconds pass. Together Rey and I, along with the third Force-user lift the ship and lay it behind us, careful not to ruin it.

I open my eyes and crouch over, gasping, and I see Rey is on her knees, panting in exhaustion. She looks at me and she smiles, the brightest smile I've ever seen. I turn around and I cry. Tears falling gently down my cheeks as a sensation I haven't felt in a while rushes over me like waves over sand. Acceptance. Love. Satisfaction. My mother is here now and I know, if she's here, she no longer believes I am the monster I used to be.

"About time you found a girl that's good for you," Leia says, a light tone in her voice as usual.

I roll my eyes at the comment but then look at Rey. "So who's flying this thing?"

"I thought you were the best pilot in the galaxy," she remarks, with a playful smirk on her face.

I smile and climb into the ship, starting the engine and bringing the piece of metal back to life. It's time to take down Hux once and for all.
