Through all the commotion the front door slammed against the wall with a roaring BANG and a shadowy figure stood in the doorway. My vision may have been blurred due to my first attack. But I could tell it was Ned Kelly himself who stood before me. I squirmed around and because Dan tugged on my shirt, the deadly revolver fired. The bullet infiltrated my skin and I screamed bloody murder as tears cascaded down my cheeks. No-one came to my rescue. During my painful retreat, Dan had successfully ripped his revolver out of its holster and Ned bounded out from the shadows to my side.
