Masky and Toby are by far the ones with the weirdest in-jokes in the fandom.
Masky's is more of an insult against the actor, Tim Sutton, who, like a normal person, gained weight. This lead to people cracking jokes about how he should lay off the cheesecake and somehow this was translated over to the character, Masky, loving cheesecake.
It's weird and insulting outside of the creepypasta fandom and the fact that it is often used as a major part of Masky's characterization is just... disappointing.
In Toby's case, it's fucking waffles. I can't even pinpoint where this came from. I could just chalk it up to a meme gone viral, but honestly?
The fact that so many people think his major defining feature is his love for waffles is also disappointing because come on!
Toby is so developed that he could be expanded on outside of the pasta fandom, liking waffles can a fun fact, but can fanfiction writers stop acting as if it's the only thing he brings to the table.
In short, stop it with the cheesecake and waffles, they aren't a character trait!
