I think my brother was a player. He was only a few years younger than me and he always seemed to tell me he had a new girlfriend. I mean, I’m am idol and I don’t get to talk to him very much but he always is dating someone. I’m a little envious.

I was finally able to come home for a Christmas party. It was only 6 days until my birthday. It was Christmas Eve today and honestly I didn’t want to go to this party.

I loved my parents and my younger brother and sister, but my parents would invite their friends and then it will just be a big mess. Especially because my parents tell basically everyone that their son is V from Bang Tan Boys.

My parents picked me up from my dorm early in the morning so we could be back at my old house in a few hours. The ride was boring and long so within a few minutes. I finally woke up to my mom poking my face from the front seat of the car and announcing that we have arrived to the house.

The house was a moderately sized home and was exactly how it was from the last time that I saw it. This time when I caught sight of the house, it was swarming with people. Looks like the word already came out that I was home.

When my parents finally pulled the car into the driveway, I hopped out of the car and grabbed my small suitcase. I looked up at the house filled with old neighbors and some class mates that I barely even talked to. I groaned and rolled my eyes and started walking up to the front door of my old home.

Instead of actually conversing with a bunch of people that I don’t really like, I went up to my old room and lay on my bed. I pulled out my phone and scrolled through Twitter when I heard a knock at my door. It has been thirty seconds since I have stepped foot in this room and people are already harassing me.

I let out a small groan and sat up in my bed. “I am not taking visitors right now. Come back when I am not sick of people,” I said. I lay back down in my bed before I heard a more aggressive knock at my door.

“Taetae. Get out of your damn room before I go out there and rip you out of your bed.” I heard a female voice say. I knew that voice very well. I shot out of my bed quickly to find a giggling girl that looked like an older version of a girl that I know very well.

“Jae,” I almost screamed as I hugged her so tightly that she gasped.

“Tae,” I heard her say into my chest. “Let…go… Can’t…breathe,” She struggled to say.

I let her go and she pulled away from my chest and looked at me from head to toe. “Oh my god Tae. When did you become a member of a gang?” She said and laughed at her own comment. I looked down and noticed that I was still in my stage performance ware.

I fake laughed at her and she grabbed my hand and dragged me through the crowd of people in my house. “I knew that I could get you out of your room. You know you haven’t changed a bit.”

I smiled at her excited facial expressions and grabbed her shoulders. “Hold on Jae. Let me talk to you before you take me… Well where ever you are trying to take me,” I said.

She looked down when I grabbed her shoulders. “Just come with me and we can talk as much as you want.”

I lifted her chin up and nodded. She quickly smiled and she took my wrist again. We walked out of the house and we ran to the backyard of my house when I saw that the old treehouse was still there.

I smiled and looked at the old structure again before I noticed that Jae was already at the top of it and was motioning for me to get inside of the treehouse.

I climbed into the treehouse quickly and sat on the floor of the small room. It was smaller than what I remembered it being because my Jae and I were pressed against each other.

I could see Jae’s breath and I ended up breathing whatever she exhaled. She finally broke the silence after a minute of staring at each other’s faces.

“I remember when we would crawl up here and just play here all day because our parents were so suffocating. It was our little getaway. It was just for us.” She said and then looked out the square that was supposed to be a window. It was already dark outside and the night air was starting to make Jae shiver.

I crawled next to her and grabbed her by her waist. I made her sit on my lap and I covered my jacket in the both of us.

“Tae,” She said out of nowhere.

“Jae,” I said in the same way she said my name to make her laugh.

“I missed you so much,” She said and she turned around to look at me.

“I missed you too,” I said.

She rolled her eyes. “No I mean I really missed you.”

“You thought I was joking? Jae, I couldn’t see your face for two years and you could see mine. I was starting to forget what you looked like.”

She turned back around and rested the back of her head against my chest. “You know, I used to like you when we were kids.”

I laughed. “Yeah, I used to like you too.”

She sighed. “What could have been…”

I nodded my head. “What could have been.”
