15 years later...
Silence prevailed in a small flat aside from the faint sounds of trickling water coming from a miniature waterfall ornament sitting in the center of a low dark wooden coffee table with an amethyst figurine on either side of it. The floorboards were a dark charcoal to accent the lilac walls with white trim. The furniture was either black, grey, white, or a deep shade of purple. It was simplistic with no clutter in sight.
The silhouette of distant dragons flew along the top her the walls in dusty violet shades. In fact there were many signs of dragons around the home. In the shape of the lamp stands and the figurines that sat all throughout the flat. Even the cushions on the sofa were embroidered with life like depictions of dragons. Another interesting sight in the flat was something that others might find more questionable that the frequent appearance of dragons.
Crystals and gems sat on almost every flat surface. Some clustered together and others standing alone. They shimmered and shined in every color under the sun. Further into the home lies a raven haired woman, fast asleep and buried under her covers. Her work desk is scattered with supplies for making wire wrapped jewelry. Some works just begun and others nearly finished. This being her chief hobby aside from collecting crystals and gems. After all, the raven haired woman was a dragon.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BE- SLAM!
The raven haired woman groaned as she rolled over to assess the damage she'd delivered to her alarm clock. Her newly flattened alarm clock. Another groan emanated from her throat as she realized she'd have to buy a new one. She lay in her bed, under the warm lavender covers for a few minutes. Mustering up the will to actually leave the cozy comfort. With a deep breath she threw back the covers and bolted for the bathroom for a quick shower, enjoying the steaming hot water as it seared over her skin.
Fifteen minutes later she emerged from the steam filled room and walked calmly back into her bedroom and straight over to her dresser. Searching for something to wear for the day. Deciding on a plum purple sleeveless top, black boot legged jeans, and black ankle boots. Once she actually got dressed she grabbed the chains of three necklaces from her dresser and slipped them around her neck. Followed by a ring on the middle finger of each hand. One a thin silver feather and the other a familiar silver coiling band with a peridot gem.
Her morning routine continued to the kitchen were she grabbed a banana for her breakfast along with a bowl of oatmeal. Then came the brushing of the teeth she had to remind herself, still not used to all the Human habits even after so many years. Grabbing her coat and purse she was out the door and down to the street to catch her bus to work.
"Hey Rain." The raven haired woman's friend greeted her as she entered the staff lounge in the back of the store she worked at. That's right, she worked in a clothing shop, utterly boring. It hadn't been her first choice, but she'd had a flash of a vision showing this building and a rose growing through a crack in the sidewalk. Rain smiled at the blonde.
"Good morning Rose." Rain greeted in return. She'd met Rose a few months ago when she'd gotten the job at D. Hendricks. They'd become great friends right off the hop. Rain knew almost everything about Rose, and Rose thought she knew the same about Rain. It pained Rain to keep the truth from her friend, but she knew it was for the best. She just hoped that if Rose ever did find out that she'd be able to understand why.
The day was normal and exceedingly uneventful for the two girls. By the time lunch came around both were more than happy to bolt out the door for their break. They met up with Mickey, Rose's boyfriend, at a small cafe not too far from the shop. Laughing and joking around as they enjoyed each other's company.
"Oh yeah, we'll find a man for you yet, Rain." Rose stated out of nowhere, pulling her from where her thoughts had wandered off to. Rain's eyes widened.
