Let's sit in complete peace
and silence on the roof
gazing our weary eyes
towards the void
of absolute darkness
as the stars light up
twinkle in a unique sequence.
As we focus
on the single thing that
lights up the darkness
that consumes the cold night.
Then we engage in
deep conversations
about nothing
and everything.
All the countless
inevitability in this world
and the universe we exist in.
The fearful infinite
of possibilities and what ifs
in this cruel life.
The should haves
and regrets for chances
we didn't take.
And as we start to feel
the heaviness on our eyes
and the quick passing
of time,
we dare to share
our deepest secrets
to the moon
as we laid our eyes on it
enamored by it's simplicity
and complexity
at the same time.
A little bit hesitant
for the bold action
but rest assured that
it would keep our little secrets
as its own.
There's no one more loyal
than the one friend
we keep on seeing
every night when we choose
to ignore the idea of sleep
and get lost in our own world
of fantasies and
colorful imagination.
As we try to escape reality
for a little while
and be free
and genuinely happy
with the moon's company.
