"What if they don't like me?" I asked with knots in my stomach.
"Trust they will and if they don't they will say it to your face"

"The last time I brought a girl home they said to take her and leave and my mama almost bitch slapped her" he said laughing.

Then a women who looked in her Kate forties came out of the kitchen and gave Chris a hug.
"Hey baby" she said kissing him on the cheek and hugging him.
"Hey Mama" he said hugging back.
She let go of him and stared at me.
"Well Tapanga you are gorgeous nice to meet you I'm Chris's mother Joyce but you can call me Mama J for short" she said hugging me.
"Thank you Mama" I said hugging back.
I relaxed a little and met the rest of his family. They were really nice people.
"Hey Chris" Mama J yelled from the kitchen.
"Yes Mama?"
"Show Tapanga your spray paint downstairs that you made her.... oh shit" she said covering her mouth.
"Thanks mama" Chris said pissed off.
"Baby it wasn't going to be a secret for long"
"Yeah yeah" he said taking my hand and walking down into their basement.

"It's a surprise" he said walking me over and letting his hand go.
