Give me your hands and I will lend you my lips,

A pinkie for a pinkie, locked together in a promise to share with each other the parts of ourselves we are not afraid to give away.

The small off my back for the span of your shoulders, my back jean pocket for the warmth of your chest.

A toe for the tip of my nose.

The left side of my neck for the hollow of yours.

Slowly the pieces we are willing to give fill the spaces of the ones we refuse to lose. And maybe someday I will grant you all of me, and I will be lucky enough to receive all of you back.
