“Elle!” Called out a mysterious voice.

I was running. That was all I could remember doing, running down an alleyway. I didn’t know why but I was overcome with a spectrum of emotions. They ranged from fear to regret. The only thing that lit the space was the moon. It was like a beacon of which I ran for. My head turned back and there was nothing there. Just a brick wall. Yet I was still running away frantically. My nerves overcame my senses of hearing and smell. The alleyway seemed never ending. Until for some reason I fell. The ground felt muddy and gravelly. My head was seeping with rose red blood. I must have really hit it on the ground. Still I continue running anyway. From some sort of invisible enemy. A threat.

For some reason I just stopped. Froze on the spot. I was nearly levitating. It was impossible; levitation is just an illusion. I felt for some reason that I was too late. The blood was still oozing out. It was quite gory. I was sweating immensely because I was so flourished with fear.

Out of nowhere, I began feeling severe pains. It was an excruciating feeling. My bones were cracking all over and it hurt like hell. My back felt like it was on fire. I was unable to scream though which made it feel a lot worse. Suddenly this shadowy figure appeared in front of me. Smirking. He looked tall and scared the living daylights out of me. Not because I was in pain. Not because he looked scary and fear full. Because in my head he was the scariest person I have ever seen for some reason.

That was when the pain stopped. The fire in my back was gone. The allyway was gone. The man was gone. I aswell was gone.

That was when my eyes flew open and I began screaming. I turned around to look at my clock. Thank goodness it was only 8:30. I was covered in sweat. The screaming just stopped. It was just another nightmare. Nothing to get upset about. Yes it was fairly scary, but it didn’t mean anything. As my aunt told me when I was growing up, 'You’ve experienced enough fear at your age.'

I slowly pealed off my soft sheets and stumbled my way towards the mirror. I don’t know why but I never really felt use to my bedroom. It always felt a little bit empty. A little bit imperfect. There I was, face to face with myself. My skin looked fairly pail as always. Its what I get for being raised in such a small town. Even though I just woken up, my eyelids were extremely purple. I must just be so tired, even though I woken up a little late. My hair moved quickly down my shoulders. It was really curly and long this morning. It was kind of a maroon brown and fairly shiny. What can I say, I look after my hair even when I’m asleep. My eyes were kind of an emerald green. They were alot shinier than usual. It was this moment that I realised I have been looking in the mirror for a good while. I must make haste to quickly get a shower and brush my teeth so I can get ready for work.

I hate my job. I am a waitress at 'The Badgers Heart.' Its just another run down dinner, but hey. I have to pay for my share of the rent somehow. It may not be much but at least its something. I share my fairly unattractive appartment building with my two best friends Faye and Abbie. They are the only two people I can trust in this city. Without them I don’t have a clue what I would do. Now, they were the only people I would consider family. They are the only people who stuck by me when my Aunt Jenna passed away. I miss her all the time. At least now she is in a better place. But as long as I have Faye and Abbie by my side I will be safe. Well maybe not so much with Faye. She is quite a wild soul.

After a nice and quick warm shower, I wrap a towel around my head and begin to apply some make-up. I don’t cake it on unless I absolutely have too. Now all that's left is to throw on some clothes and a necklace. I was now dealt with the choice of a small pink shirt and a nice turquoise cardigan. I just grab the cardigan and put on my emerald necklace to go with my eyes. Then I chocked myself to fit into my new denim jeans. After a minute of attempting to catch my breath, I ran downstairs.
