Chapter 46

CHAPTER 46

I felt Luke shake me and that's when I opened my eyes to wake up. I also heard someone trying to open the bedroom door but it was still locked.

"Baby put your clothes on." Luke whispered.

I didn't hesitate. I found my bra and panties and put them on quickly, then put my T-shirt and shorts on over them. I laid back down under the covers like I had been sleeping the whole time.

I heard Luke get up and open the door.

"Luther, why was the door locked?" Mama asked. She got quieter as se saw me asleep.

"Because, I uh I just didn't want anyone to come in if we were asleep. We both were extremely tired." He said.

"Oh okay."

After that, I heard the door shut again.

I let out a huge sigh.

"That was close." He said.

I nodded in agreement.

I saw Luke had put on sweats and a T-shirt.

He laid back down next to me and put his hands behind his head. He stared up at the ceiling and then slightly turned his head towards my direction.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked.

I smiled. "Fantastic. How bout you?"

"Better than I've ever slept actually."

That surprised me, but then again it didn't. I kind of wanted to avoid the conversation we have to have, actually I really want to avoid it. I don't know how he feels right now, I don't even know how I feel right now. Maybe if we just don't talk about what happened we won't have to talk about the future. The future scares the shit out of me. If we get back together, that doesn't mean everything goes away and gets better. We both still have three years left of college. Luke soon interrupted my thoughts.

"Do you want to get breakfast?" He asked.

"Sure."

I got up and we walked downstairs into a quiet kitchen. Everyone was sitting at the table except LeClaire. She was making breakfast. That woman is so strong, I respect her so much.

"Luke, Kasey, come here." Kelly said as she walked into the living room. Luke and I glanced at each other before following her.

"Why was there ice cream and and an empty bottle of wine on the deck?" She asked. She laughing a little towards the end.

Luke and I looked at each other and chuckled a bit.

"That was our midnight snack." I said.

Kelly nodded and then smirked.

"I'm pretty sure you had more than that." And with that she walked away.

Luke and I looked at each other with wide eyes. I couldn't help but let my face get red. Luke's cheeks turned a dark shade of pink.

Well, Kelly heard.

"Umm I think this is your fault." Luke said.

"What? How's it my fault?" I put my hands on my hips.

"You were the one making all the noise!" He said smirking.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry!"

He smiled back at me and led me back to the kitchen.

Kelly gave me a look and started laughing.
