Don't hate your body
even though your lungs
are still filled
with his smell
and your veins
are full of his
ravenous destruction.
His shattered promises
are imprinted
on your skin,
his treachery
carved into your bones.
Bleaching,
scrubbing,
cutting
will not erase his
fingerprints
they are
forever
tattooed
on your heart.
