Kaname x Zero (I want your blood)

Chapter 42--Our love?

Zero's POV

Yuuki woke up in confusion and attacked me, pushing me down on the ground and biting hard on my neck. But this wasn't a bite a vampire would make. It was almost like a human's or a dog's. I presumed her fangs still hadn't returned to their original function and after making me bleed she started licking my neck.

I let her. I didn't push her away. I had no right to do that to begin with. But this woke me up, Yuuki wasn't a human anymore. She is a pureblood now. A vampire.

I have come to view vampires in a different light thanks to her and Kaname, but that doesn't mean I felt strange letting a vampire just bite me like that, a pureblood at that.

I pushed the complicated thoughts away though and instead concentrated on gently stroking her hair, trying to calm her down. It was then the door opened and Kaname walked in, an expresion full of confusion on his face.

"Kaname, she woke up." I said nonchalantly. Kaname must have complicated thoughts on this and I wanted to act like this wasn't a big deal.

"I see that... Sorry, I should have been by her side after all..."

"It's okay! I am fine! But she is confused maybe you should explain to her what's going on.

"Y-yeah... I guess so..."

"Yuuki, I will let you have a proper chat with your brother, okay? I will come back later." I patted her head to calm her down and stood up. Covering the wound on my neck with my hand, leaving the room.

Kaname's POV

I explained everything to Yuuki after that, our relationship, about Rido, about our parents, everything.

She listened to me with concentration. At the end she burst into tears, I hugged her, stroking her back soothingly.

"Yuuki, don't be afraid, I... We will protect you! No matter what! Got it?"

She nodded. Her now long hair was hiding her face now, I couldn't be sure how she felt but it was probably confusion, sadness for our parents and... her trust in me and Zero.

"Kaname-sama... I... saw some of Zero's memories just now..."

"I see. Is there some question about them?"

"Kaname-sama... Don't sacrifice yourself to make me  a human please... I will be sad... and even if I forget about you... Zero will be sad!"

I blinked a few times in confusion and smiled in a loss.

"Yeah. I won't. I promise." I didn't mean for it to sound like a groundless light promise but that's how Yuuki heard it and I got scolded for that......

Zero returned after a while, a white bandage around his neck.

"Are you better now, Yuuki?"

"Yeah... I am better.... Sorry for biting you, Zero..."

"That's okay, don't worry about it."

"Yeah... will you... hate me now that I am a pureblood?" 

Yuuki looked hesitant, Zero managed to reassure her well though. And at the same time he reassured me too.

"Don't worry! I decided to limit my hate to Kaname, so!" He said with a wide smile.

Was Zero always this reliable...?

He knows what to say at the right time and right place... This must be a characteristic of kind people.

Zero's POV

Seeing Yuuki worrying about such things made me sad. I can never hate her after all. Meaning I don't hate all purebloods. But somehow, Kaname, and just him I will always hate somewhere in my heart. Not the usual hate something more... something like love, I guess...?

Ah right.... I love this guy huh... That's why I am going against everything and following him. How stupid it sounds when I stop to think of it.

What did I even find in such a guy... He is sadistic, unreliable, utterly useless at keeping his calm and he has at least some skrews loose... Yeah... it's probably I can't stop worrying over him...

It's probably because we are so alike... He understands me and I understand him. I probably don't need to search any deeper, I never imagined love is really something that "just comes" to you. But I guess I will have to accept it already.

I finally raised my face and glanced at him, realising he was looking back, I blushed.

I will NEVER tell him any of this out loud!

Kaname's POV

After Yuuki calmed down we put her to bed again and we stood in front of the window.

"You don't have to leave from here, tonight."

"Yeah. Seems so."

"So... in others eyes, what are we now...?"

"Cooperators, I guess."

"Haha! How cold! At least call us friends!"

"I don't want to be friendzoned."

"WHERE DID YOU LEARN SUCH A WORD!??"

"Some boys from the class were saying it..."

"Ahh.... I should take care of them after all...."

"Don't be such a kid! Also, I was kidding. It's fine, if you want to be friends in public."

"Yeah... Hey after all this is over, maybe we should make it public..."

"Our love?"

"Stop talking like you are chatting with a girl!"

"Yeah yeah,personally I don't mind but I suggest we wait and see what the world's gonna become."

"Yeah...."

We parted ways that day. Zero let Chairman Cross in on the situation and I stayed by Yuuki's side. 

Starting from the next morning, I begun explaining to Yuuki about purebloods' powers and we started training. She didn't catch up very quickly. But at least I taught her how to stay untouched by most of the normal vampires. While she was training her body with Zero we managed to make her synchronise with Artemis once again and make it even change its shape. She could use this.

It was progressing smoothly. Zero was teaching her all kind of self-defense techniques and how to use Artemys while I taught her about her pureblood powers and generally her vampire powers.

She was drinking blood from both me and Zero. Zero never once complained but he came to me for blood more frequently. That worried me a bit.

Zero had less and less self-control regarding his powers lately and he also had mental problems regarding his brother, something I learnt when I drank some of his blood at some point.

I would do something for him as soon as we get rid of Rido, I would give him all the blood he needs. I will not let him fall to Level E, no matter what.

I said every time I saw his pale face or his tired eyes...

I could only hope, no- believe in him. Believe that he won't collapse until Rido is defeated.

Heyy~~ Ok I am here once again! But gosh writing over 1k every week is kinda harsh haha....

This is getting strange but yes I am still within schedule XD
