Zero's POV

It's been a month since Rido was defeated. Everything were slowly returning to normal. Well, most of things.

There were also things that would change forever. The night class managed to survive disbandment. But it changes shape. The president's position was given up to Yuuki who was enthusiastic to keep peace going. She was indeed that man's daughter no matter what anyone says.

Most of the Night Class students felt a bit uneasy about this change but with the persuading force of Kaname and his close associates, Yuuki was eventually accepted.

Chairman Cross... never changed. You couldn't have guessed he returned to being a vampire hunter that day. He took upon him the management of the school again. And slowly the students of the Day Class returned. Everything was normal.

Master Yagari went on a hiatus with his work as a hunter and instead served as vice-chairman in school, taking care mostly of the night class. Maybe the chairman's idiocity got to him too, I still haven't figured it out.

Ichiru followed master in this. He transfered to the night class and he took it upon himself to create a way for love between vampires and humans and also abolish the racism former-humans receive. Given that Yuuki was his "master" in a way too, nobody was suspicious of him. But I was sure this was to prove to Shizuka that they could have co-existed had they tried.

As for me? Somehow I ended up having to do the clean up work with Kaname. Destroying the remaining members of the council, and also the traitors of the hunter association. Surprisingly, I found myself aiming to be be appointed the president of the hunter association and Kaname was determined on becoming "the king" of vampires. No, his win against Rido hasn't gotten to his head, don't worry. He just wants peace too. If he is the one to lead vampires and I the one to lead humans, peace was bound to come in a way.

But the behind-the-scenes work was no easy thing and it had taken a month just for me to manage to join the Association officially. And with the help of the chairman and master, I managed to hold more authority than I had expected. Of course to reach the top and gain everyone's trust, time was needed.

As for Kaname though, things were different. Half of the vampires sided with him immediately and acknowledged him as a king while the other half refused to even negotiate about it. But it was true that he was the vampire represantative in the association.

And as things progressed like this, we had no choice but to leave the Cross Academy behind. I remeber quite well how I was dragged to the Kuran mansion just like that one day. Yes, we are living together. But this is of course confidential and there are no servants going in and out. When someone comes and they just have to enter, I hide in the rooms upstairs.

The funniest thing is when we have to go to the association for the same meeting. We obviously can't walk in together and I can't be late so we go together and I enter first. Kaname ends up going for tea or something nearby and waiting. And when it is sunny and hot outside he comes in like he was put in an oven!

And time went on like that... Progressing slowly.

Kaname's POV

It's been a good 10 years since me and Zero left Cross academy and begun our plan on peace.

Zero finally managed to become the Association president. And he has gained the trust of the majority of the hunters.

I still haven't become a "king" but about 70% of the vampire population is on my side.

But now, instead of these complicated things, I would prefer to speak a bit about how my relationship with Zero is now...

Unfortunately, our relationship is still a secret to everyone apart from those very close to us.

Zero has never spoken of making it public in the last 10 years. But I know he doesn't care whether it gets known or not. He is keeping it a secret for my sake and I know that full well.

I am glad he is being considerate but this liberty is putting pressure on me too. I never realised how real freedom worked before. Right now there is nothing to bind me down. Zero knows everything about me and I know everything about him too. I can talk about everything with him no matter how taboo the subject is. Zero will quietly listen to me, think about it and give me an answer I can be satisfied with.

There is no council to bind me down now. And I know Yuuki is in safe hands. Moreover she is much stronger now too.

I obviously have to keep up appearences in soirees and meetings but I have all the freedom I could ask for in my private life.

We still have our arguings at times and we still have problem communicating but we make it work somehow. Living together with Zero, just the two of us, is like a dream though. I am afraid one day I will wake up and Zero won't be by my side.

Speaking of Zero, let alone falling into Level E, having drunk blood from his brother, he has gained farther strenght and is able to take blood tablets too, though there isn't much reason to do that now...

His brother though! He is starting to honestly get on my nerves. He looks so much like Zero but he is entirely different! He comes together with Yuuki to visit from time to time and I have noticed they are getting too close! Moreover when he comes, he has many tricks to lock Zero in the bathroom or somewhere and come down as Zero! Which obviously isn't gonna fool me but he still looks like Zero and a clinging Zero is too cute! Damn him!

Yet both Yuuki and Zero burst into laughter in these moments... Somehow lately, whoever knows of our relationships manages to unsettle me while Zero is there keeping his composure and chuckling. Except if it's the chairman. If it's the chairman we get equally angry and yell at him.

And that's how things are now. It might be the calm before the storm though...

To be continued....
