i started to shake and sweat cause i was nervous. i went to sit beside the boy.
"hey Jonah!" he says happily
"h-hi daniel..." i stutter
"how's life?"
"good i guess. um can i talk to you?" I look up at him.

"mhm"
"im just gonna let this out but I-I like you..." i look down in embarrassment

"o-oh jonah..." this doesn't seem good
"i know i know you don't like me back but that's-" i get cut off
"look. you're my best friend and i don't want anything or anyone to ruin our relationship so it wouldn't work out and also um im sorry no one told you this but...im dating zach " he says biting his lip

my heart immediately stopped. nobody ever told me when i got back. why though?
"o-oh sorry i didn't know..."
"oh is all good sorry that nobody told you"
"it's fine" i had an urge to kiss him for some reason but i couldn't do that
i just started leaning in until he knew and backed away
"so want anything eat? I'm gonna get food" he gets up
