A Trip To Sleepy Hollow-Ichabod Crane x Reader

(Based on the movie:Sleepy Hollow from 1999)

"You both are to venture to Sleepy Hollow and investigate the murders."

Those words kept repeating in my head as we began to head over to Sleepy Hollow with my fiancé Ichabod Crane, he didn't want to travel all the way here since he promised to finish up with the wedding plans, but we do need the money first and investigate what has been happening in that town. I glanced over to see him staring down at his hands with many scars from the past, i took his hand and smiled warmly to him.

"Don't worry,Ichabod.." I continued looking outside the small window to the carriage but it wasn't a pleasant ride since the road was rocky, but finally we made it.

We both grabbed our luggage and exited the carriage, hand in hand we walked into the town and we received strange looks from anyone who saw us, they either stared or closed their windows and doors.

"Pff so rude." i mutter to myself..

"I agree..let's just finish this job and head back home."

Ichabod held my hand tighter and met up with a group of men who would let us spend the night, we all sat down in the living room as one of the men began to explain what has been occurring here.

"There's been a horsemen recently killing people around tow, thing is he's headless and neither of us want to go and confront him..he was a man who was killed back then for murdering people, soldiers chopped his head off and killed his horse.."

I glanced over my left and saw Ichabod shivering violently, he's afraid again, i giggled and rested my head on his lap "There's nothing to be frightened of,dear." Ichabod looked back at me with frightened eyes and gave me a nervous smile, "D-Does he appear every night?"

"He has..that's why we'll let you spend the night so we can all go. But first we need you to-" the man stopped when the door opened an another older man appeared.

"A body has been found." he said shakily.

"We have to check it out." I tell Ichabod who's reluctant at first but agreed to see the body. We walked into the woods and saw a body straight ahead with no head, "Have you moved the body?"

"Yes I-I-"

"You never move the body!" Ichabod told the man annoyed that he would do such a thing, "a body should never be moved, it'll be harder to know what exactly happened to him." i next tell the man who stays silent and stares at us both.

"My dead, (Y/N) can you hand me my bag?"

"Certainly."

I hand Ichabod his bag and knelt down next to him and helped him examine the corpse, a roach came out of the man's deceased neck and Ichabod stepped away scared, "We'll have to realize a few tests back in the morge. I must know the man's name and age." after looking into it further for a few hours we rested up a bit and headed back into the woods before night time.

We were walking down on a pumpkin patch, I was walking side by side with Ichabod, my hands wrapped around his arm as he spoke to the man, "Wait..did you hear that?" we all stayed quiet when it began to thunder, the sky was almost dark and the wind blew.

"It was just thunder, we should head back." the man told us.

"Of course." Ichabod flashes me a smile and we begin walking back when he heard a horse behind us. The three of us looked back frightened when we saw a black horse with red eyes, a man was mounting it but he had no head.

"It's the h-headless horsemen.." Ichabod tightly held my hand.

"We have to leave now" but before either of us or the man could move, the headless horsemen approached us and swung his sword, I closed my eyes and felt Ichabod pull me down to the ground as we fell and Ichabod began to crawl back when the man's head was between his legs.

"Ichabod!" I crawled over to him and got closer towards him when the headless horsemen rode over to us and in a second stabbed the man's head and rode away with it, "Are y-you okay?" i ask getting dizzy.

I looked back into Ichabod's dark eyes before he gently smiled at me then passed out, "I-I can't believe it's r-real-" i closed my eyes and also passed down next to Ichabod.
