Help-Jack Torrance x Reader

(Based on the movie: The Shining from 1980)

"Of course,I'd like to go with you.Anything for my best friend." my friend Wendy said through the other line. It's been half an hour since we've talked and I asked her if she'd like to come with us to where my husband Jack will be staying, he called me not long after he left that he had a promotion and had to take care of a hotel for a couple of months.

As soon as I ended the call my daughter came running into the living room. "Mommy!" she came in with tears falling down her cheeks.

"What happened?" I knelt down her level and wiped her tears away. "Danny is scaring me again." this has happened for a few months now, she would come in crying over how her twin brother Danny would scared her, since he's been talking to himself and sometimes zoning off.

There was nothing else for me to do since I went to doctors with him and he had no diagnose. Jack would sometimes go with me but not every time telling me 'He doesn't have time on being here and wasting his job'

"Don't be scared of your brother, he's just special."

"Am I special?" Izzy whispered playing with the sleeves of her dress. I smile down at her and nod, "Yes you are, come on let's keep on packing." Izzy and Danny continued helping me pack and stuffed some of their toys on my bags, they'll get bored of staying in an empty hotel anyways.

"Honey i'm home!"

I smiled at the sound of Jack's voice entering the room and I watched the kids run up to him, he knelt down and hugged them each. He's desperately been trying to act like a father again since we were on the verge of a divorce. Wendy told me to give him a second chance, so I did.

"Ready to leave?" Jack asked me when he released the kids and wrapped an arm around my waist. "Almost. I finished packing your clothes, oh and I asked Wendy if she would come with us." I saw Jack roll his eyes and I playfully punched him.

"She'll keep up company. Besides she can help and watch the kids too."

"I just wanted us four to go, but whatever you want."

We finished packing and we were all heading to the hotel's location. Wendy helped me by distracting the kids since they kept on asking why the hotel was so far, I also began playing with them since I could see Jack's annoyed face, which means he'll explode in no time.

I don't want him to get angry at me or the kids. That's why i'll do anything to save our marriage.

It's been a month since we arrived at the hotel. The kids were playing off somewhere while Wendy and I were making breakfast, we made some eggs,bacon,sausages and waffles. I returned to my room and served Jack's breakfast as he woke up, "Are the kids here?" i heard the tv on and only saw Danny watching Looney Tunes, "Only Danny's watching tv..Wendy." I turn to my right to see the raven haired woman looking back at me with a tray in her hands.

"Have you see,Izzy? She isn't with Danny."

"I haven't, do you want me to look for her."

I shake my head and gave Danny his breakfast, "No worries, I'll look for her." I left my room and started looking around the hotel for my daughter, I heard giggling and assumed it was her. I followed the sound of her laughter which was coming from the ballroom, I entered to see no one till I spotted her head hiding behind the bar.

"Izzy, what are you doing?"

"I was playing hide and seek." she said stepping out of her hiding spot and coming closer to me, "Oh, with who?"
