Meeting the one part three.

She walked into the warehouse that had been converted to hold all the teams in the morning of what was to be their first day and a week from when the last group would arrive. She didn't know what to expect of the day, and the cold tension was still hanging above some of the other team members. She didn't know if the trust exercises would ever help as the ego's of some of the leaders seemed to play a huge factor from what she had seen already. Surprisingly the grey team had formed an almost instant bond with her team, and she had to believe it was the actual closeness of their homes to her teams. They had assigned the houses by the team, and each team lived on one street lining the side and then another on the opposite. It would be convenient if there were an emergency that they were that close but the mystery still surrounded what they do exactly. She wondered if maybe one day she would figure it out.

She walked into the conference hall to which she spotted some of the grey team and some of her own. There were about fifty other people and somewhat surprisingly there were two other females. She often only worked with me, so that was a pleasant surprise, but it was short lived as the taller of the woman who honestly looked more like a female bodybuilder than a soldier walked up and looked her over and somewhat growled in her direction as she walked past. She started to wonder if she was in the twilight zone when the other walked over and flipped her hair over her shoulder and again try to size her up.

"Don't think that you are better than me, just because you are on the blue team.", she said snidely.

"I don't think I am better than anyone.", Kit replied. "Kit." She said as she reached out her hand.

"As if.", the woman said and walked away.

"Oh, this is going to be fun.", She mumbled to herself as she went to the back row and sat by herself as there new joint commander called the meeting into starting. She absorbed the words but never really stopped thinking of other things. If this continued it would be a long five years, she thought. She never understood the cattiness of other women. She didn't care for the drama and often didn't bother with them, even her friends' girlfriends. She never got close because more times she had been accused of trying something with one of the team members. She didn't think of them as men. They were co-workers. She decided instead of dealing with this after the meeting she would find a bar and drown her sorrows in a few drinks, or go to the store and drink a few in her backyard. The looks she received were enough to tell her she had been judged already without any knowledge as to who she was. Shaking her head, she went to where the movers for the building were unloading the equipment. She could stay and help but decided to call it a day. She had nothing to do that she couldn't do from home and it seemed her presence wasn't needed or wanted.

"Where do you think you are going?", A voice from in back of her asked. She knew the voice but was surprised when she stopped and turned and he was right there practically in her face, or more apt his chest was. How did he get so close without me hearing? She wondered.

"Home.", she answered.

"Why?", he asked again.

"I'm not needed here.", she answered.

"Who says your not?", he asked.

"I think if anyone needs female companionship they should look in that direction. As for me, no thanks. I'm good.", she replied.

"Those chicks causing trouble again?", he asked.

"Trouble again?", she asked.

"They have started with members of each team. Trying to size them up. It isn't about weakness either. They are looking for something. With the men, it is probably a date, with you competition. You are just that for them. I have already checked, and both are close from being cut from yellow. Neither can hold their weight on the team, you, however, are already co-leader and probably younger than both of them certainly more feminine.", he replied.
