existentially
because it's the only bit of relief
i can get that brings
the right amount of burn and numb into the mix
a toxic concoction to place
gently into my
stale coffee
cardboard mouth
i'm waiting
and i'll be waiting forever
for it to work its magic

waltz on the tip of my tongue
it isn't a pill, no
it's a tiny universe
it's a gentle nurse
it's a knife waiting to be wielded
so i can fight you

sweet demon

but it's going to feel so good
