"I don't want to." Willow whined as Tyler woke her up the next morning to get ready for school.
"Mom's going to be pissed if you skip your first day back. Besides, don't you want to see everyone?"
"I saw them all yesterday." Willow huffed, turning over onto her side. "Please just leave me here today. I'll go tomorrow, Tyler."
"Willow, you have to come to school today. Everyone is expecting you." Tyler tried to get his sister out of bed.
"Dammit, why the hell can't they expect me tomorrow instead?" Willow sat up and growled lowly. "I had a terrible night, Tyler."
"I know." he replied. And he did. He had to come in and hold her, as she screamed in his ear. It was always the same words over and over. 'Help me! Please, somebody! Anybody! Help us!' and then she would scream out Riley's name. Over and over until Tyler was finally able to rock her to sleep. "And i'm sorry that it was terrible. But you need to get up and start getting ready."
"Fine." Willow crossed her arms. "Get out, Tyler."
Tyler quickly walked out of his sister's room. He knew that this was going to be a monumental day for everyone. Everyone in town knew what had happened. At least, everyone that mattered. He was worried about Willow meeting Rebekah today. He was worried about Rebekah reporting a new Lockwood to Klaus.
Mostly, he was worried about Klaus coming after his sister.
After Klaus came to the house last night, Tyler was positive he had seen Willow. But he wasn't sure if Klaus knew that she was his sister.
Meanwhile, Willow slowly got out of bed and took a hot shower. After that, she dried herself off and blow dried her hair.
Willow quickly searched her closet for a nice outfit to wear. 'Should I wear a dress?' Willow thought to herself, frowning as she looked through her closet. 'Is that going to be to casual? Should I dress casual?'
Willow decided after a few short moments of thought to wear Riley's old football jersey.
Willow smiled slightly, happy that his parents had let her keep it. Her school in Alabama was retiring his number, so she was able to keep his away jersey. She remembered his coach coming into her hospital room with the jersey in his hands, tears in his eyes.
"Hey Willie." he said, tears in his eyes.
"Coach Williams." Willow smiled to him, happy to see a familiar face.
"How many times have I told you to call me dad?" he chuckled. Then, he stood tall as he took something out from under his arm. He unfolded it and held it up for her to see. "This was Riley's away jersey. On behalf of the entire school. And the entire football team. We would like you to have it, Willow."
Willow's eyes filled with tears as she looked at Riley's father. "Are you sure?"
"I've never been so sure." he said, smiling at her. He walked forward and placed the jersey in her hands. "He loved you Willow. My son loved you so very much. I just knew that I was going to be able to call you my daughter someday." he chuckled and grinned at her as tears fell from his eyes. His mouth made an 'o' shape, as if he had forgotten something. "I almost forgot." he pulled a small velvet box out of his back pocket. "They found this in the glove compartment." he placed the box in her hand.
Willow started bawling as she looked at the box. "This is the surprise he wanted to tell me?" she asked his father, looking up at him with wide tear filled eyes. The light from the open blinds reflected in her watery eyes as she opened the box.
