I park my bike near a tree, and leave it there. Sliding my clammy hands against my jeans, I carefully step over roots and make my way inside the forest. If you can call it one.
After I had taken several steps, I pause and scan my surroundings, looking for James. The forest is alive today; birds chirping, squirrels scurrying up and down tree trunks. I decide to take a right turn, and I keep my eyes down to prevent myself from tripping.
I suddenly bump into a hard chest, and I look up, expecting to see James. Instead, I get a heart stopping surprise. The guy from last time is now fully naked, and is fuming. From this close, I can see his eyes in turmoil, colors changing ever so often. Green, blue, black. Once they even appear white. I take a hesitant step backwards, but he wraps his hand tightly around my upper arm.
"What the fuck are you doing here?", he asks roughly, his hot, moist breath fanning my face. I inconspicuously take a sniff, and come up with nothing unusual. "Ducking answer me!", he shouts in my face, and I cringe.
"I-I am l-looking for James", I reply, stuttering. He smiles an evil smile.
"Lover boy", he asks, and I nod. He chuckles darkly. "Oh, lover boy's in deep, deep, deep trouble." My heart skips a beat at what he's saying.
"W-What are you talking about?", I ask, bewilderment color in my tone.
"It means he's unavailable at this moment. But you're nice," he pauses. "More than nice. You're beautiful. So I'm going to let you go. And if you ever step foot in here again, you'll be joining precious James and, what's that boy's name? The one you both are looking for?" He stops and takes on a pondering look. "Ah. Kyle, I believe his name is." At the mention of Kyle, cold fear grips my heart.
"K-Kyle? You know something about where he is?", I ask. And the guy's face pulls into a scowl.
"Yes. I know where that fucker is. And you'll be here too, if you don't shut your trap and leave. Now", The guy orders, and lets go of my arm. I stay rooted in my place.
"I'm not leaving without James and Kyle," I say rebelliously, and he rolls his eyes. Then unexpectedly, shoved me. I stagger backwards, trying to regain my balance.
He doesn't allow me though. He steps foreword and pushes me again, this time much stronger, and I drop to the floor. He stands over me, and grabs the top of my arms, lifting me up.
"You want to see James? Ok. But don't say I didn't warn you," he says in a dark voice. He then let's go of me arms, and starts to shake vigorously. I watch, speechless, as his form lengthens and he becomes even taller. His face...the only way to describe his face is by saying that it is melting. His nose and mouth melt away, leaving a smooth face behind them. He fixes his shadowed eyes on me.
I take my queue and starts to run away, but he easily catches up to me and pins me to the floor.
I told you to stay away.
I gasp at the cold voice in my head. What the fuck is this guy?
He cocks his head, and trails a hand down my face and stops at my chest.
Yes. I told you to stay away. And now? Now , I take you. That's the last thing I register before a blinding white light shines in my eyes.
When I come to, my eyes slowly peel open. I find myself in a dark room, on a hard surface. I try to move my head to the side, but discover that my head is secured in a brace. I try to lift my hands up, but they're restrained. Panic starts to creep over my body. I force my erratic breathing to slow down, and keep taking in deep breaths.
I strain my eyes and scan them all around me, trying to decipher where exactly I am. No windows, and the ceiling is plain, with no lights or anything hanging from it. I don't get too far with my assessment before a loud, whirring noise starts up from all around me. The surface I'm lying in starts to vibrate, then just stops. I try to keep my heart from beating rapidly, but fail.
"Ah. The little cat woke up. Do you remember what curiosity did to this poor cat?" The voice comes from everywhere at once. I can't tell if it's from the right, left, up, down.
"Killed it," a harsh voice replies, and the first voice melodically laughs.
"That is correct," the first voice says, and the vibration starts up again. "Meddling in something that is not your business tends to end up killing you," the voice continues, and the vibration turns more violent, rocking my whole body.
I clench my teeth and fist me hands. Fear starts to creep up my spine, and my breathing increases.
The vibration stops abruptly, and the last thing I see is milky white fumes rising from the ground, and my vision starts to go black.
