'I cannot believe I slept late again Kelly is going to kill me' I said running around trying to find some clothes then made a mad dash to the bathroom "For goodness sakes Addison you don't have to be at work till 4 and it is only 2:30" Briah said sitting up on the couch. "What did you say?" I said sticking my head out of the bathroom door "It's only 2:30" she said smiling at me. "You told me it was 3:30" I walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me "I am sorry I just remember you telling me that your boss will be upset with you if you were late today, so I decided to help out" Briah said smiling at me then walked back to her room. I just smiled at her then walked toward my bedroom to get dressed. I managed to make it out of the house with time to spare.
"Addison" Kelly said giving me a surprised look when I walked into the shop. "Yes" I said smiling at her "Addison you are off today. Didn't you check the schedule?" Kelly said walking up to me placing her clip board on the counter then leaning forward. "well you said that you needed some extra help with the inventory." I said slipping off my purse "I had that done over a week ago" Kelly said smiling at me. "May I stay to help please." I said giving her a worried look "Please I really need the extra hours and the extra money." I couldn't help begging my boss for the extra hours. Briah quit her job last week, which left me to pay for everything. "Addison, I wish I could let you work today, but with the big sports event next week I can't afford it." I could tell she was in a spot and knew if she was able to she would allow me to work all the extra hours I wanted. "Tell you what Dustin and Hunter are late for the shift. You can stay till they get here." She gave me a smile then walked to the back. After about an hour Kelly told me I could just stay till we closed which gave me an extra six hours on my paycheck. When we closed Dustin and Hunter came running up "We are sorry Kelly. We been helping a friend with some jobs and really lost track of time" Hunter said trying to smooth things over with Kelly. "Well you two are lucky that Addison was able to work. Tomorrow you need to cover her shift." Kelly said then walked toward her vehicle. I just stood there looking at them. I didn't know what to say to them because I really was not mad at either of them. "Addison I am really sorry something came up and well we really could not get away" Dustin said giving me a sheepish grin then ran his hand through his hair. "It's okay Dustin next time how about you give me a call if you need your shift covered" I said then started to walk away. I stopped to look back at him waiting for him to call for me. When I looked back he smiled then walked toward me "Addison would it be all right if I walked you home? I mean the streets are not safe for a young lady to be walking alone." I just smiled at him then nodded my head. He smiled at me then ran to catch up to where I was at. As we walked he took my hand holding it tight I managed to look at him smiling as we went.
"Thank you for walking me to my apartment" I said turning to face him then smiled at him "Your Welcome. I wanted to make sure that you made it home safely" he said smiling at me taking my hand running his thumb across my hand. I smiled at him then hugged him, but I didn't want the hug to end I enjoyed being in his arms. I had a secret crush on Dustin since the first time I met him. He was always so nice to me whenever we would work together at the store. "Can I ask you something?" Dustin said smiling at me "Sure" I said smiling at him "I was wondering if you would possible be free on Friday?" he said looking into my eyes "Well I am supposed to be helping Kelly set up for the sport thing coming up" I said looking at our hands "oh" I felt him let go of my hand then watched as he moved away creating space between us. "Why were you asking?" I said smiling at him "Well I was wanting to know if you would be like to go" I could tell that he was a little nervous trying to ask me a question but was interrupted when I saw Hunter walking up to us. "Dustin, we need to get back" Hunter said then he looked at me "Sorry Addison. See you tomorrow". Then I watched as they ran off in the opposite direction. I turned around then unlocked the door walking into my apartment.
