It was a Friday afternoon when I was stuck after school because my brother forgot me. My earbuds were in and I couldn't hear a thing, except I did. I did a quick 360 and found that there were a group of guys staring at me. I heard my brothers truck pull up so I grabbed my bag and walked over to to his truck

"Sorry for taking so long", he said, unlocking the doors.

"Whatever", I got into the back seat and set down my things, letting my earbuds play my soothing music on the way home.

"I got someone here to meet so you have to stay in the living room so you know everything", my brother said as I got out of the truck.

"Sure".

I got inside and changed into something more comfortable and sat on the couch while waiting to meet this mystery person.

"Okay, Y/N, this is Dylan. Dylan, this is my little sister, Y/N", my brother introduced us.

"You were on of those kids that were watching me. At the school", I pointed at him and glared.

[Fast forward a couple years:)]

I sat down on my couch and took a sip of the drink I had poured for myself and focused on the TV playing a movie in front of me.

"Hey Y/N could you get that?", my brother asked.

I groaned and stood up, going to the back door and opening it up, not recognizing the man in front of me.

"Uh... can I help you, I asked as the man just stared at me.

"Wait, you were on of those kids that were watching me. At the school", reality caught up with me.

"Y/N", the man said

"I forgot your name", I smiled lightly.

"Dylan"

"Dylan", I repeated.

And every time we talk
Every single word builds up to this moment
And I gotta convince myself I don't want it
Even though I do

"I love you Y/N", Dylan looked down at me, sweat glistening on his forehead

"I love you too Dylan", I replied.

We connected our lips but I quickly pulled away.

"But you love someone else as well. Go to her. I'll be okay"

Dylan stared at me

"Go"

His feet picked him up and he ran to catch up with the side chick that came between us.

"Jackson, Jackson you know I can't do this!", I cried

"Why not? Because you still love some fuckface that cheated on you and went for the whore he cheated on you with? That's why?!", Jackson screamed back

"Listen I know it's fucked up but I can't help it!", I yelled, "I love him. I love him so much Jackson".

Jackson sighed, "Don't get hurt please".

I nodded, probably going to disappoint him.

It was awkward, finding out Dylan was a father now. I went back just like I wanted but now he's got a kid. And I'm not the mother of it.

"Congratulations Dyl", I whispered next to him at the Grammy's.

Dylan looked over at me, "Thanks".

Tyler, Dylan's friend, watched us and knew there was something going on.

And what's the point in hiding?
Everybody knows we got unfinished business

"I don't get it Ms. Y/L/N. If you love him why didn't you keep him?", my therapist asked me.

I shrugged, "He cheated on me. And they say if you live them let them go and if they love you they'll come back".

My therapist sighed, "That's why we're here"

"I know".

"I want him. I want him so bad. But he's got kids and a... a wife".

"The girl he cheated on you with"

"Yes. I found out when I went to the Grammy's for Robert. He won y'know".

"That's all the time we have for today. I'll see you next time"
