Hello Readers!! Please support this story. Thank you!
-----
My name is Xiao Park Rain. I'm half Korean, half Chinese. Even though I'm half of both nationality, I actually had an almost american look which I probably inherited from my father's side since my father is half chinese and half american.

I have pale skin, an oval shaped face with black doe eyes.  I have a barbie nose, thin pale lips----yeah... I said pale because I think I lack some vitamins since I am always cooped up inside my apartment all day. I have black short hair reaching just below my chin and standing at one hundred fifty-six centimeters.

---

It was a monday morning. Today I decided to go out and find some new books that I might fancy at the bookstore because I just finished the latest transmigration novel that I have read online entitled 'The path to your heart'. It was the talk of the readers community with the same genre interest like meso, I decided to check it out.

It was fine.

Today I wore a simple black square pants and a plain white oversized T-shirt paired with white shoes. I'm also wearing today my black round rimmed glasses which I considered the most important part of my everyday look because of my poor eyesight.  My eyesight started blurring three years ago due to my addiction of reading novels specially transmigration novels which is my favorite theme.

I am currently walking at the sidewalk near the city center where different shops are located. I am walking at a steady pace, admiring the people and the stablishments because I hardly leave my apartment and when I do, I don't spend a lot of time outside. When I pass by an alley, my steps suddenly slowed before it came to a halt. I suddenly feel strange, it's like there's some force that's pulling me all of a sudden. The force seems like it came from the alleyway that I just passed.

I suddenly feel scared. Isn't this just like what we see in horror movies?, where the protagonist feel something strange before they experience all the horror?.

I took a step backward and peered at the alley. This is still located at the busiest part of the city center but this alleyway have no shops or whatsoever, just garbage bins.

Now they say curiousity kills the cat but In this case I hope not. I know some will think 'why bother going there' or ' going in is just dumb' or some will blame the author of this book like ' this is just a lame plot' but guess what, this is Miss author's story!!.

Ahumm!!(clears throat), Sorry for that •^•.

Well, I am a cautious person but there's this feeling deep inside me that seems to say, If I miss this opportunity, I will regret it and will wish to return to this exact moment someday. So, without further stressing myself into thinking, my feet started to move into the empty alleyway.

As I am walking in the desolate alley, my right hand clutched tightly the strap of my cute yellow sling bag while my left hand reached inside my bag, gripping tightly the pepper spray that I always carry wherever I go, for self protection.

I observe my surroundings carefully. So far there is nothing unusual, no paranormal. Everything is just... in place. There's the garbage bin on the side, graffitis on the wall, scattered banana peel on the way and piled up broken window panes.

I did not notice anything out of place until I walk  further inside the alley where I notice a shop with it's door ajar and a wooden sign that says 'open'. The force seems to be stronger, the nearer I walk towards the shop with a bold cement carving on top of the doorway that says A.N.C.I.E.N.T.

The name of the shop is quiet weird and generic but I decided to peer at the door. It's a little dark but I can see that there are shelves with—BOOKS!. There is no sign of someone. "Hello!" I call out before entering, leaving the door behind me open for my self assurance.

I started looking around, the inside is a little cramped because of the amount of items on display. There are two rows of bookshelves at the center of the room, earthen jars, porcelain jars, paintings of ancient women... I guess? I cannot really say because the paintings are all blurry and covered with dust and added to that is my poor eyesight but the clothing and hair do of the women in the images is giving a costume drama feeling, the faces are really blurry but I think they are all very pretty based on the contours of their faces. There are also accessories for women such as jade bangles which I think is really pretty, earrings, necklaces and hairpins as well as dresses but the styles are all outdated. The styles look like the ones used in costume dramas in china.

I heard footsteps coming my way so I look towards it's direction.

A woman that looks like in her sixties is walking towards me. She must have came from the shops backdoor. She looking at me with a warm and welcoming smile.

"Hello young lady how may I help you?" The old lady asked kindly. She is wearing a Blouse and a long skirt with pearl accessories adorning her neck and ears.

"Well ah... umm...I was just walking and found your shop by accident" I explained looking at her blue eyes. She looks asian but her eyes is very blue. She might be half.

"Oh! Young lady.... believe me when I say that there is no one who walked inside our door by of accident." She zaid. "No one. " She added with a mysterious smile. I scrunched my forehead in confusion, Is that something bad or good?.

Seeing my confused look she smiled again at me and asked " Do you believe in fate?". I paused for a second not expecting that kind of question but then I nodded my head. Of course I do believe, even in the novels I believe that each characters in the story have their own fates. They are fated to do the things they do inside the story to create such beautiful scenes.

Seeing me nod my head the old lady kept her smile and slowly led me towards the book shelves. "So youre here for a book." The old lady stated rather than asked .

I was shocked. how did she know?! But then she explained herself before I could even ask " I figure you came here for books young lady based on your..." She made circular motion around her eyes " ...glasses" she finished.

'Is it really that simple to figure out my intention for coming just by my eyeglasses?' I thought. It seemed... unbelievable.

Dismissing my thought I said. "Yes ma'am,I came here to look for books. Specially transmigration books, do you happen to have one? " I asked politely.

The old lady thought for a moment before skimming the titles of the books inside the bookshelves then grabbing a slightly thick book with blue cover filled with dust and putting it on top of the counter at the corner of the shop.

Dust flew as the old lady wipes the book's cover. After that, she pushed the book towards me.

" Mysteries Everywhere" I read.

"Young lady that book has a really beautiful story so I suggest that the young lady takes it. I'll only sell it to you for a Cheap price"

"Is it really good?" I asked wanting to be sure. The cover of the book is already damaged as well as the pages inside but it's still not to the point of finding it hard to read the sentences. I understand that the book is like this because this shop is an antique store and this book is already here for some years stocked inside the bookshelf.

"You should read it to find out, you can purchase it now and if it happens that you found the book not to your liking, then young lady, I will give you a refund." The Old lady said.

I find the old lady's offer great so without waiting for long because I still have things to do at home, I chose to pay for the book and leave the shop but before I could leave, the old lady told me a weird thing...

"You should remember young lady that when you want to sleep keep that book away from you" then she bid me goodbye with a happy smile. I know her words sounds weird but I never put much thought about it, just putting it at the back of my mind.

Finally a new book to read and a new story to unfold.
