"Mommy! Wake up! Its Charles and Lukies birthday and Daddy's making pancakes!"
I tell Sophia to go eat while I get ready. I want more sleep, as the baby kept me up all night.
Percy walks in.
"The boys wanna go to the park. You going to stay here?"
"Yeah. What time is it?"
"Almost noon. I'll pick up a cake while we are in town."
I get up and go into the shower once I hear them leave.
I decide that I'll put up streamers and balloons as a surprise for when they get back.
I make myself some oatmeal and sit on the couch.
I never really get time to myself.
I finish my breakfast and start to do some dishes. The phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hey, we're on our way home."
"Which park did you go to?"
"I don't remember the name of it but were like twenty minutes from the house."
"Okay, bye," I say.
I hang up and try to get some work done.
I go upstairs to clean up Sophia's room, which is a mess.
She has crumpled paper over by her desk, along with scattered crayons and colored pencils.
There's dolls covering her bed, so I have no clue how she sleeps.
I go over to pick up all her movies she has scattered on the floor.
I get down on my knees, which is a struggle.
As soon as I do, I feel wet. Wet as if... my water broke.
I try to hurry to get up, but the process still takes me at least five minutes.
I hurry downstairs to the phone.
"Hello?" Percy answers.
"Where are you?"
"Pulling in our street, why?"
"My water just broke."
"One minute," he says and hangs up.
I go get the hospital bag. I pack some of the kids' things in there, since it looks as if they'll be coming with us.
I hear them come through the door, and I waddle downstairs.
We all go back to the car to load up again.
"What's wrong, Mommy?" Charles asks as soon as we start going.
"Mommy's having your baby sister."
"On my birthday?"
"Yeah."
"Fantastic!" Sophia yells.
