A/N: DIS IS IMPORTANT SO PLEASE READ- So I guess I have a bit of a favor to ask all of you. It is by no means mandatory or any of that, but there is a small awards thing going on by user MarvelDCWattyAwards. I have entered the first book of this series (Disfigured Beauty) into the Loki section of the competition. It would mean the world to me if you voted! If not, totally get it. The user has not put the name up in the section yet, but if you comment the name of the book in the Loki section, it will be counted as  a vote! Also, Keara, the lovely writer for Recompense, has also put up her and has also not been included yet but would like your votes! You guys get two votes so it would mean the world to both of us to consider our stories! I'll remind you guys again when the final day to vote gets closer (September 20, my birthday!)

Anyways, back to the book: Now we get to where Loki ran off! The first part of this chapter takes place during last chapter as I'm sure you'll see. I'm quite pleased with how this chapter and 13 are done. Chapter 13 is by far a favorite I have, but you all will have to wait till next week to see it... Please listen to the music, sets the mood for this chapter and such. Enough babbling, enjoy! ^_^

“Ah so the 'God of Lies and Deceit' has finally come to betray me. I’m surprised it took you this long.”

The Master stood the moment Loki entered the throne room, holding his scepter loosely in his hands, the blue gem glowing in the dark cave. He looked to be crueler than before, had something happened to him in Loki’s absence? It hardly mattered, what truly mattered was Sigyn who was at the top of the Master’s agenda.

“Would you suspect anything less? I must say I’m disappointed in a man that refuses to be called anything but ‘Master’ didn’t think to dispose of me sooner.” The sarcasm rolled off of the lips that formed into Loki’s trademark smirk.

“I will say, I am quiet disappointed. When I was informed of your loyalty, your ruthless nature, I had hoped that you would live up to your reputation, it seems as if I am sadly mistaken.” The Master’s gaze turned upon his staff, eyes shimmering against the glow of the blue stone.

“It’s that wench, the Lady Sigyn, who has softened your heart is it not? You should be ashamed to even call yourself ‘the God of Mischief’ as a woman that is known for her constant love and dedication tamed your wild heart. Consistency and mischief; it may be that you two were fated for each other, if not for the death that will befall your beloved whore.” An evil smile spreading across the Master’s face, satisfied with the effect that it had on Loki.

The God’s jaw clenched, his golden armor appearing along with his horned helmet. He breathed out murderous words that were in a tongue foreign to the Master. A dagger appeared in his hands as he thought of throwing it and ending his deplorable life. How dare he refer to Sigyn as… He couldn’t bring himself to even think the word. Immediately he remembered the names he himself had called her; he was just as despicable as the Master if not worse.

“She is far more honorable than a man who claims to knows what lies within the stars. She makes her own destiny, and charts the stars you claim to read. But then again, it would be presumptuous for me to believe that you could read.” The former prince of Asgard spit out the words like venom.

A deep chortle came from the Master, his pacing continuing to bring him closer to where Loki stood. The air was thick with the tension mounting between the two of them; it was only a matter of time before one blinked and made a move.
