"We need to talk"

I turn around to face the blonde "Luke I'm working"

"I don't care. This isn't about me"

I huff and walk away from the weights I was sorting

"What's up?" I close the door behind us after walking into one of the boxing rooms

"It's about Gray" he explains sitting on the edge of the ring "I know he's told you what's going on but I also know he's making it out to sound like all he is getting is a few beatings"

"Wait What?"

"He's in deeper than he's saying and you know it would take me a lot to talk to you"

I refrain from rolling my eyes

"Just try to keep him from leaving the dorm for the next two nights"

"How bad is it?"

"Bad.... he's been in hospital a few times before because of it. Obviously I had to force him both times but it's only going to get worse"

Luke's phone rings as soon as he says the last word and he nods a quick goodbye before leaving

"Stupid idiot" I mutter referring to Grayson before putting my hand on my head and leaning back

After work I had a shower and changed into some black cycling shorts and a yellow hoodie. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and switched my contacts for my glasses

Grayson had spent the day doing some study surprisingly. I wasn't long typing an essay I had to do when he stood up and grabbed his keys

"Where are you going?" I ask

His eyebrows furrow proving his evident confusion "just out. Why?"

"Because......" I drag out my response "we have to go grocery shopping"

"We do?" He responds "we never do it together"

"Well let's start" I close my computer and stand up before grabbing my stuff and slipping on my shoes "let's go"

"I'm driving" he says grabbing my car keys out of my hand and throwing them back onto my bed

A few students that were at the football field directed their attention toward us while we got into Grayson's car

I spent most of the journey thinking about why I had to keep Grayson with me for the next two nights that was until he decided to snap me out of it

"So what's really up?"

I look towards him. I take the opportunity to capture his chiselled jawline and long eyelashes that are prominent as he studies the road on front of him

"I told you. We need to go food shopping"

He glances at me quickly "and I don't buy it,
You were wearing the clothes you wear when you want to stay in. So what's really up?"

I sigh "what so I want to spend some time with my roommate what's wrong with that?"

He runs a hand through his hair "you don't need to worry about me"

"But-"

"Emma I'll be fine"

"You don't know that Grayson"

"Trust me"

I nod genuinely worried

We park in the car park before going into the store. Grayson was pushing the shopping cart while I put the food into it

"Grayson we don't need so much oranges" I complain whilst laughing "I don't like them and you eat like two a month"

"Emma the logic is, if you don't have it you'll want it but if you have it, it won't matter" he grins

"So your saying if you don't have more than two you're going to magically want more than two?"

Grayson doesn't answer instead he freezes and looks at something behind me. Immediately I get nervous and feel the urge to punch myself for suggesting that we leave the dorm

I let out the breath I was holding when the person behind me speaks and instead of it being a angry male one it's a soft feminine one

"Grayson hun, I can't believe the first time I see you in ages is at the supermarket" she giggles "you couldn't have done that at home?"

I turn around and smile at the middle aged woman with her black hair. She's wearing a fitted grey suit like she's on her way home from work

"And who's this" she extends her hand and I take it "I'm Graysons mom Tracey"

"I'm Emma, Graysons roommate?"

"It's lovely to meet you Emma. I can't believe you managed to get this heartbreaker to come shopping with you. You must be more than roommates" she winks

"Mom Seriously" Grayson complains while I laugh

"Anyway now that I have you here Grayson. We're having a family meal to celebrate your grandparents wedding anniversary. It's a surprise so don't ruin it" She deadpans before turning to me "I don't mean to ask this of you but if you can get him shopping you can get him to this. Its next week, I can text Grayson the details and I hope to see you there. You seem good for my son"

She doesn't bother saying anything else before walking away

"What just happened?" I turn towards Grayson who shrugs in response

I look into the shopping cart and sigh when I see the full packet of oranges in it

We didn't get back to the dorm until 10pm. Shopping with Grayson took longer than expected and then we decided to get food afterwards

"Let's play a game" Grayson smirks coming out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around his waist

I raise my eyebrow "and what is this game?"

Grayson doesn't respond instead he lets his grip on the towel go resulting in it dropping to the floor

As much as I tried I couldn't look away but luckily for me he happened to have a pair of
Calvin Klein briefs on under it

"Game over" he smirks before walking towards the kitchen area

"Wait what game was that?" I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion

He leans on the counter, his arms crossed and his teasing eyes looking my way "The game where I prove to you that you can't resist me"

"And you've proven that?"

"You thought I'd nothing under my towel yet you didn't turn around"

"I was in shock"

He smirks "keep telling yourself that"

"Uhhh"
