That morning, the Harpercop siblings, their dalmatians and Storm had woken up to see the freshly fallen snow outside their window.

They found out that Ted had gone mushing with the dogs, so they decided to go for a walk through town with Nana.

"Only two more day till the race" Brock mentioned.

"I'm so excited" Ann said.

"Us too" Rolly and Cadpig added.

"Hey, Nana" Storm turned to the border collie, having a question that just came to mind. "Have you always wanted to be on the sled team?"

"Well, yes, actually" the female border collie admitted. "Ever since I first saw Lucy mush with the others, I've wanted to mush with them. Feel apart of the team. But Demon wouldn't let me"

"Tell me about it" Lucky said, looking away.

"Well, what about you and your siblings?" Nana asked the dalmatian. "I've seen how you've watched the sled team"

"Oh, yeah" Lucky chuckled, being a bit embarrassed. "It's just a silly dream of ours"

"I'm sure you guys would make great sled dogs" Nana told Lucky, his siblings and Storm.

"Thanks for your encouraging words" Cadpig said to the border collie. "I'm sure my brother feels very awe inspired and his spirits uplifted. Right Lucky?"

Just then, the gang heard the sound of dogs panting while it also sounded like a sled was being pulled.

"Speak of the devil" Lucky muttered as he and the others looked up.

It was the sled team and they came running into town. But there was one small problem... they were by themselves. Where was Ted?

"Guys, what happened?" Kali asked, as she and the others approached the seven huskies.

The rest of the team looked back to Yodel and Sniff, giving them those looks while they chuckled nervously.

"It was a fox" Yodel explained.

"We couldn't help ourselves" Sniff added.

"Well, where's Ted?" Brock asked.

"Still up in the mountains somewhere" Mack replied.

"You mean he's lost?!" Rolly looked like he was on the verge to freak out.

"How should we know" Diesel asked. "He fell off the sled while we were busy chasing that fox"

"That bozo really stepped in it this time" Demon said, referring to Ted. "We tried to tell him he didn't belong here"

"But you know Ted can't speak dog" Ann reminded the mischievous huskies, since Ted couldn't understand the dogs like the Harpercop siblings could.

"Tell me about" Demon replied. This caused for the rest of the husky team to laugh.

"I like him" Nana defended, referring to Ted.

"Oh, sure. You'll roll over for anyone who'll pour you a bowl of slump" Scooper scoffed.

"Hmph" Nana turned away from the sled team.

Just then, the Harpercop siblings and their dogs felt something. Out of the corner of their eyes, they turned to notice Thunder Jack had been watching them from a distance. The old mountain man soon got to his sled with his dogs and took off.

The kids and dalmatians looked to each other, wondering what that was all about.

The kids and their dogs were worried about Ted. What if something happened to him? But they decided to take the sledding huskies back home first and would wait there.

Luckily, Ted did come back late that night after he had been rescued by Thunder Jack of all things, which was a bit of a surprise to the Harpercop siblings and their dogs.

It was even more of a surprise when Ted told them he was giving Thunder Jack the dogs after he agreed to tell Ted what happened between him and his mother Lucy. It was decided that Ted would be leaving back for Miami in the morning.

The kids still questioned all that had just been explained, confused.

Everyone soon went to bed.

The dalmatians siblings had really been bonding with the huskies that they invited Lucky and his siblings over to sleep with them in the barn. Lucky, Storm, Rolly and Cadpig were delighted as they came between Mack, Diesel and the others all curled up together and went to sleep.
