"Riah!" I hear my name being called from the other side of the door.

I sit on my bed, pulling on a shirt.

"Yeah?"

"Today's the day, man. I can feel it," smiles my best friend, Fisher.

I have known Fisher my entire life, he is my beta after all which basically means we're brothers separated at birth. I've always considered Fisher more of a brother than a friend since I don't have any siblings and because of how close we are.

We would always get into trouble for picking on Fisher's little sister and her friends or for pulling little pranks around the pack house, like adding food colouring into breathe spray and putting flour in the hair dryer.

"Today's the day!" He runs and jumps onto my bed standing tall. "You are going to find her. I can tell."

"Sure," I roll my eyes.

Fisher has always been positive when it came to finding my mate. He would reassure me at times when I felt like giving up and crawling into bed. I think he's more excited about me finding a mate than he is at finding his own.

It didn't help that everywhere around me people had their mates rapped up in each other's arms or simply just seeing them looking at each other made me feel as if I was mateless.

I want what they have, I may sound like a girl, but I want my mate. So, I can bring my pack happiness, after rouges killed my father, my pack hasn't been in the best shape, they're getting better with time, but I think if I were to introduce my better half to the pack, they would take it as a sign from the moon Goddess that it is time to move on and grow as a pack. As a family.

Sure, I miss my father dearly; but I don't have much time to mourn when going to school and running a pack full of 1000 members is at the top of my priority list. My father has taught me the basics, but he didn't tell me that it's impossible to get just a bit of time to myself. He's been gone for three months and I don't have everything under complete control just yet.

"I got to go, man," I stand. "I've got somethings to take care of before school."

"Don't be late, again," Fisher says before walking out of the room.

Without a second thought I head down the long hallway and into my office.

My blank cream colored walls stare back at me, as I march to my large wooden deck. Taking a sit, I sign just looking at the amount of paper work that has to get done.

~~~~~~
"Fu<k!" I speed down the deserted road towards the school. Stupid paper work took so long, making me lose track of time. Now I'm going to be late for class, again. I honestly don't know how many times I have been late to school this year so far.
I finally make it into the school parking lot with five minutes to spare; that's a first.
"About time, man." Fisher and my other friends meet me near my truck.
"Paper work," I mumble.
"When is it not?" Liam grins.
I have known Liam Thomson for about five years now. He's an a$$ and everyone would agree with me on that. He uses a lot of the girls in school for sex, it surprises me he hasn't told us he has an STD yet. It's not just the hook-ups that annoys a lot of people, it's his whole personality. He's arrogant, self-centred, and it's his d;<k that controls his body, not his brain, if he has one.
"Fu(k off, Thomson. You think it's easy being alpha?" I bark.
"Well, yeah. You act like you're some kind of king and we are all beneath you!"
Within seconds, I have Liam pressed against a random car. My fist clenching onto his shirt, holding him steady.
"You don't know what the fu<k you're talking about! You think that I enjoy having to make difficult decisions right after my father died? If I'm that bad at being alpha you can leave or grow a pair by challenging me for it."
I don't have to look up to know that I have drawn a crowd. I can feel their eyes shooting bullets at me, wanting to know what I would do next.
This school has both werewolves and humans, so I try to calm myself. I can't turn wolf, not here of all places.
I look around the crowd, glaring at any eyes that catch my attention.
While doing so, a set of eyes caught my attention.  Dark chocolatey brown eyes that are in shock, to be specific. I try to focus on her scent, but with all of the people around, I can't smell it. The pungent smell of perfume mixed with B.O is all I can pick up on. These people need to shower more, they sink bad. I drop Liam and take fast glides towards her, which causes her eyes to widen before she runs into the school as the bell goes off.
She's here, and she's absolutely beautiful.
