zero || character study

hey so nanowrimo begins tomorrow and i still only have one chapter completed but i swear i'm writing and that's what important! anyway, have some character studies:

camila [cam-ee-ya] is the second born fuentes child, twin to a brother. she's 23 in 2023 when the book is set. she lives in the big kensington home with the rest of her family, sharing the top floor with her sister. camila is shy at first but she's really quite bubbly once you get to know her. she leans on her bodyguard a lot because, as he should, he's always protected her and it causes her to wonder if her feelings are getting confused.

alfie [al-fee] has no instagram but camila will eventually convince him to join. he didn't have much, just like the fuentes' but then he landed his bodyguard position and doesn't have to worry much about money anymore. of course he'd do anything to protect the client, but eventually he realizes that he would with or without being paid to. this causes some inner turmoil that may make him rethink his job.

javi [hah-vee] is the eldest child at 25 in 2023. he has taken himself back from the family not out of anger or hate but out of necessity. he just couldn't handle the publicity and the fame and constant talk of money. he moved back to canada and owns a small cottage in mid-west with a girlfriend no one else knows about. he and colleen [call-een] love their quiet life together. but when they decide to get married, they'll have to open back up to the fuentes.

franco [frank-o] is camila's twin, younger by thirteen minutes. he loves to drink, he loves to party, and he loves his boyfriend steven [stee-ven]. franco also loves to disappoint his mother, which includes stealing the family boat for weeks at a time, partying in public, and posting indecent pictures online. he's really a nice guy and always supports his siblings. he came out as pan when he was 17 and started dating steven at 20.

amalia [ah-mahl-ee-a] was the youngest fuentes until the adopted twins came around. she's 21 in 2023. she's often found at charity balls, dropping money to anyone who promises to help animal shelters. she's gay and usually takes her australian girlfriend eleanor [ella-ner] to these parties. the two love to travel anywhere with a beach. amalia's never worried if eleanor was with her for the money and they've been in love for four years.

martin [mar-teen] is a good man and a good father. he spends as much time as he can with his kids. he tried to keep them humble and it worked--with his wife, not so much. he used to be a regular blue collar guy. he now owns a small vintage record shop winning 3.5 billion dollars can change anyone, but it didn't change him.

carolina [care-o-leen-a] tries not to let the money change her but online shopping spree by online shopping spree she realizes her world is flipped upside and it kind of takes her over. she acts like she was born with all these perks and tries to forget the fact they were ever once in so much debt. she flies often with martin, having never had anything before and wanting to make the most of life now. she doesn't completely understand her kids' life choices but tries to be supportive anyway, but it doesn't always come off like that.

kali [kah-lee] and issa [ee-sah] are the adopted twins of the family. brought into their custody in 2019 while carolina and martin were travelling in morocco and just fell in love. the girls are very happy kids and love the colour pink. they love their big brothers and big sisters and love to play with them. they don't really understand the money situation, all they know is that whenever they ask for something, they get it. but they're always really kind and gracious.
