Without saying a word, they stared at each other for what felt like hours until the shaggy-haired man yelled, "That's all you have to say is "hello." What the hell, Haru? You ran away seven years ago, and you didn't even leave a note!" Haru didn't say anything as he continued yelling at her. "Mom, Dad, I, and our friends had all looked for you. Hell, Mom cried herself to sleep every single night since you disappeared! And now that I've finally found you, I want you to tell me why you ran away from home."
Anger flashed the man's onyx eyes as he looked at his little sister. Throughout the yelling match, Daisuke and Toshinori looked back and forth between the siblings, thinking, 'They don't even look alike.' Haru sat down and soon motioned for her older brother to sit next to Toshinori and Daisuke. "Okay, I'll tell you why I ran away, but please don't interrupt me," Haru told Shouta.
(Haru's POV)
Seeing my older brother like this had thrown me for a loop. Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad to see him again, but I didn't expect to meet Shouta in this scenario. And to be honest, this wasn't how I envisioned seeing my older brother again. "Where do I even begin?" I said, sitting up straight on the couch while Toshi sat beside me and held my hand. He rubs the top of my hand and suggests, "Why don't you start from the beginning, Angel." I squeezed Toshi's hand before looking at Shouta again, who raised his brow curiously.
"Shouta? Do you remember how many quirks I had seven years ago?" I asked him.
"From what I remember, you only had two quirks back then." He replied, not knowing what I was getting at.
"I did have two quirks, but then one day, two more appeared," I admitted.
"What do you mean that you have two more quirks? How are you still alive?" My brother yelled out.
Forgiving his outburst, I calmly explained, "I have four quirks, Shouta. And before you ask, they're angel wings, ice, regeneration, and the last is more like a curse." Toshi, Daisuke, and Shota curiously look at me. Glancing over at Toshinori from the corner of my eye, I noticed him motion for me to continue, "My fourth quirk is known as Emitter, meaning that I can take away other people's quirks and use them. Not only can I take them away, but I can also transfer those quirks to others."
My brother gave me a look of suspicion, and I was hurt that he didn't believe me, but what did I expect? Shouta was always skeptical until he had solid proof. Even when we were little, he had always been suspicious of others until they earned his trust. "I'd be happy to prove it if you don't believe me." I said sweetly while thinking,' Same old Shouta.' My brother nods, and I activate my Emitter quirk. Getting off the couch, I walked over to my brother, touched his arm, and told him, "Try using your canceling power on me." He stood up and tried to activate his quirk, but nothing happened, so he tried again.
"So you were telling the truth. But that still doesn't explain why you ran away from home." My older brother commented, while Dai had found the whole scene amusing. 'Asshole.' I thought, sending him a death glare.
Touching his arm again, I gave my brother back his quirk and calmly explained, "On the day that my fourth quirk manifested, a group of villains found out about it, and their leader sent his stooges to recruit me, but I told them that they could go to hell."
Glancing over at my older brother, I noticed how proud he looked. "And their boss doesn't take "no" for an answer. So, I was stalked and threatened for months. But then one day I found a note in the room saying that they'd hurt you and our parents if I refused again. It also said that if I told anyone, then they'd kill you and our parents." I said, my voice wavering as my eyes were filled with unshed tears that were about to fall.
"You have to believe me, Shouta; I ran away to keep our family safe. And staying away from our family and friends for the past seven years had hurt me more than you could ever imagine." I tried to hold back my tears but failed.
Shaking in anger, my brother yelled, "You could've told Mom, Dad, or me about this instead of running away! I constantly searched for you and read the newspaper, hoping and praying to Kami that my little sister wasn't dead! Dammit, why didn't you ever contact us, so we could at least know that you were alive?!" Hurt, sadness, and anger flashed in Shouta's eyes. All of the guilt from that one choice that I had made seven years ago had started to eat away at me.
"Don't yell at her." Daisuke yells at Shouta, and I shake my head and softly say, "Dai, He has every right to yell at me. I made a choice back then, and now I've got to accept the consequences." Toshi didn't say anything; he just gave me a reassuring smile. And I sent him a grateful look.
"Does Mom and Dad know that you're back, Haru," Shouta asks me while trying to calm down. I looked at him and innocently said, "No, but I will visit them tomorrow. Would you like to come with me?" I silently prayed that he'd say "yes" because I didn't want to be alone when I told them the truth. And as much as I love my mom and dad, my mom's temper is worse than mine." OK, but you'll owe me big time." Shouta shrugged; a ghost of a smile soon tugged at the corner of his lips.
(Shouta's POV)
Even though I was mad at Haru for running away, I was so glad my little sister was alive and well. Although there are a couple of questions on my mind now, 'Why was Haru dating Toshinori? When did they start dating? And does my sister know about him being All Might?' I was going to be very pissed if he didn't tell her. "Aizawa, how come I never met your sister until four months ago?" Toshinori asked.
"You and Present Mic met her when our old teacher made us do a group project. But back then, Haru wore all black." I said to him, and he looked confused. So I pulled out an old photo of Haru and me from seven years ago from my wallet.
"Now, I gotta see this." Haru's friend said, a mischievous grin formed on his lips. Then I heard my sister shout, "Don't you dare show them that picture, Shouta." Haru tried to snatch it out of my hand, but I held the picture above her reach. It was a photo of my sister wearing an all-black outfit with glasses.
Taking the picture out of my hand, her friend teasingly said, "Wow, Haru, you were a nerd. Toshinori, you need to see this." Toshinori came over and looked down at the picture. "Why didn't you tell me you looked beautiful wearing glasses, Haru?" He commented, and my little sister's cheeks started heating up. She brightly smiles at him before narrowing her eyes at her friend, shouting, "I was going through a phase when I was sixteen." I chuckled when I remembered why she wore nothing but black. My sister only wore that color because I always wear dark clothes.
