Treat You Better

Chapter 8

*1 year later*

Bucky and Hayden were standing in the church where he grew up in and got married the summer before their senior year of college. They were standing there when the minister said "The couple wanted to say their own vows. Ms Blakely he asked that you get to say yours first." 

She smiled and said "Always the gentleman." 

Wanda handed her a tissue and Hayden said "Bucky from that night on my birthday when you rubbed snow on my cheeks and my neck I knew that you were something special cause you did something that no one besides my daddy could do and that was calm me down. The first time we ever kissed on New Years Eve it felt magic was happening in me my heart was going crazy and when said those words those words my daddy told me so long ago about how I would find someone that loves me the whole package the red hair the green eyes and the temper that comes with it you told me you love the whole damn package I knew that I had found who I was suppose to be with but I was scared. You showed me what it feels like to truly be loved and to not be afraid to love again. I love you baby and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you to build a life with you and to have you by my side till death do us part." 

The minister said "Mr Barnes."

Bucky closed his eyes and took a deep breath and said "Doll baby all my life all I was told was that I was going to meet a girl who was going to change my life. My dad use to tell me that true love is hard son but when its with the right person it won't feel like it's hard because that person will love you back. He told me that it wasn't easy that it was hard that it takes work but it was worth it all. I grew up seeing true love in my parents and that's all I ever wanted for me but I knew it was going to take someone special to make me want to work at it and you have made me want to do that for the rest of my life baby I want to build our life with you I want live in Brooklyn in the house I grew up in and have our kids grow up in. I want wake up to these green eyes and fall asleep to them be here for you when you are sad or hurt or whatever it is rub snow on your cheeks when you are so mad that you can't calm yourself down. But most importantly I want love you and keep my promise to you that I made that first night that I promise that I would do my best to treat you better." 

He wiped her tears and the minister finished up the ceremony and then he said "You may now kiss your bride Mr Barnes" 

Bucky lifted her veil and kissed her. "I give you Mr and Mrs James Buchanan Barnes" the minister said. 

Bucky picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and said "Let's go babydoll." She smiled and shook her head. They got to the reception and she picked their first dance song "The Rest Of Our Life" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. 

"You look beautiful Mrs Barnes" he said as they were dancing

"Oh why thank you Mr Barnes." she said with a smile. 

They were dancing and staring right into each other's eyes with the look of so in love and she said "By the way.. I have a wedding present for you."

"Oh yea is it dirty." he said with a grin.

"No.. I um I'm pregnant." she said 

"Seriously.." he said

She smiled and said "Yeah I am serious baby." 

He kissed her and said "Mmm I'm excited for our new chapter baby." 

After their first dance was over the DJ said "Ok we need all daddies and daughters on the floor." 

She swallowed hard and said "Oh god I forgot to tell him not to do that." 

"Shh baby I have a surprise for you." he said 

He turned her around and she saw her step dad and he said "I know what you told them but I wanted them here for you." as "I'll be Your Man" By the Zac Brown Band started to play and her stepdad took her hand and they started to dance. 

Bucky walked over to her grandma and said "You did good Bucky." 

"Thank you Margaret." he said as he wiped tears. 

Rebecca his sister walked over to him and said "Come on." as "Stand By Me" By Ben E King.

"Becca." he said 

He started to dance with his sister in place of his mom to his mom's favorite song she would sing to him to get him calm down as a baby. Hayden smiled and winked at Becca she told her that she wanted them to dance in place of his dance with his mom. He started to fall apart by the end of the song cause he missed his mom she passed away 5 months before the wedding but she had been long gone for 4 years in her mind. He hugged Hayden when it was over and whispered "Thank you." through tears. 

Then he lead her back on the floor as "My Girl" by the Temptations started to play and their wedding party joined them as everyone was allowed to dance with them. They did the cake and then they left to go home then they left at 3 in the morning to head to the Bahamas for a week for their honeymoon.
