Koda

The carriage bumped over rocks and small holes, but everyone was sound asleep, Julius was going through a detour, he was eager to show the surprise he had promised, his home wasn't to far, it was in hoof town and they were fast approaching.

Julius was quick to complete the tasks that needed to be done, such as releasing the horses and ensuring they have water and feed, as well as leaving the tack out to dry from any sweat, he then woke up his passengers in delight.

They sleepily followed Julius to a small shack like house, they watched him knock on the door, a lady opened the door a few seconds later, "miss Salo!" Exclaimed Julius, she gave him a confused smile, "your home a lil early" commented Miss Salo, Julius gave her a wink, that only confused her more, a human girl noticed Julius and ran over, she huffed in frustration, "didn't she give you a treat? Well if you're naughty you don't get one" explained Julius simply, "how'd you know what she was upset about?" Asked a yawning Tax, before giving Miss Salo a friendly wave hello, "you pick up on their different behaviours and sounds" stated Julius simply.

"Oh, Miss Salo, this is Quix and Tax, they are the fortama goers I have been driving around" explained Julius, "hello" greeted Quix, she smiled at them, "I see, nice to meet you boys!" She said happily, the human girl now realising that Julius will not in fact give her a treat, decided to look at the new humans, she was the most eager about Goldy, who sleepily listened to the girls quick and barely comprehensible words, "this is twister, the new one I had told you about" said Julius as he smiled fondly at her, Quix patted Twister who ignored him, Tax lowered Goldy for Twister.

Echo was surprised as Julius gently nudged him inside, a couch sat on the wall opposite the door, a 24 year old olive skinned human lay on the couch, he watched curiously before sitting up and putting a foot on the floor, he took a few steps forward, Echo gaped at him, he approached and stared at the older human, "Koda, you remember Echo" came Julius's soft voice, but the two humans weren't listening, Koda lightly trailed his hands on Echo's face, just checking if he was real, Echo grabbed the hand and held it in front of him, Koda sniffled, "you're back" he muttered, "I missed you" whimpered Echo, "me to bud, we're family" stated Koda, Echo let the hand go, and was suddenly enveloped in a hug.

Quix and Tax were confused, Rebel silently watched, he was touched by the strong connection, and maybe a little jealous and felt alone, Twister to watched, she was also jealous, but only jealous because Koda hadn't been that way with her before, Goldy wriggled till Tax put her down, she ran over to the two, Echo looked at his sister, "this is little me!" Exclaimed Echo, trying to wipe away tears secretly, "your sister, that's the word, sister" explained Koda lovingly, "that makes her, our sister" stated Koda, Goldy grinned up at him.

"Do you know who tried to save Echo when he was younger?" Asked Julius, Tax shook his head in a 'no' gesture, "it was me, it was my fortama, and those two, were inseparable" explained Julius happily, Tax and Quix examined the scene, Koda had helped them onto the couch and was holding the two close, he didn't want to lose Echo again, and now he felt responsible for Goldy, he wanted his family happy and together, Twister turned to Rebel who was looking at the ground as he loosely held Quix's shirt, "come" commanded Twister, she started dragging him away but the collar pulled on Rebel's neck, quickly Twister unclipped the leash and continued dragging him away, "Twister! You come back here" commanded Julius, she glanced back and giggled before bolting away, Rebel could only follow.

Julius sighed and chuckled softly, "sorry about her" he apologised, Quix and Tax waved it off, they didn't care, as long as their pets were safe and happy, Miss Salo waved everyone in, Tax and Quix felt awkward and weird  in someone's house and not a motel or hotel, but watching Koda hold the two blondes, and hearing the back human doggy door open to allow Twister to drag Rebel out they couldn't help feeling somewhat happy with the situation, Julius was already after Twister and Miss Salo was making some food that didn't taste the greatest.

After a few hours the group needed to leave to ensure they'd make the end of fortama celebration in a weeks time, Koda didn't want his appointed siblings to go, Echo convinced him by saying "they're also family, their our daddies", they were similar to parental figures to the two, with one being constantly babied and the other given a little bit to much independence, but Quix and Tax looked after the two and adored them, and that's all that Echo and Goldy needed to know for them to adopt their owners as parental figures.

Rebel left quite happily, Twister was exhausting to be around and he couldn't find a good place to hide for her to stop pestering him, they waved to Miss Salo and headed off to the great fortama banquet and celebration.
