Peridot's POV
1 week later

Since that day, Lapis and I were better friends. Bestfriends to be exact. We talked a lot and got to know each other better but still, I didn't tell her my biggest secret. My feelings for Lapis are still there. I don't want to admit it. You want to know why? Lapis is so beautiful, gorgeous, cool and kind. She would never like me back. A nerd. A freak. I shook my head. I have no time for this! Lapis is waiting outside for me. It was monday in the morning. I and Lapis are always going to school together. I ran downstairs and open the door. The blue girl was standing in front of me. She hugged me with a smile. "Hey Peri ready for school?" I yawned. "Yeah I just couldn't sleep well." Lapis giggled. "You can sleep later. Let's go!" She took my hand and led me towards our bus stop.

Timeskip to lunch

Lunchtime. The Crystal Gems were in the cafeteria. They were waiting for me and Lapis. We were going along the hall until someone stopped us. In front of us was Jasper. Goddamnit. Why is she here!? I didn't see her since last week. "What do we have here!? A tiny nerd and my little princess~"
Jasper tried to take Lapis wrist. I stood in front of Lapis to protect her. "Leave us alone!" I shouted to the buff girl. She laughed. "How do you want to protect her? You can't even defend yourself!" Jasper punched me in the face. Lapis gasped of that cracksound. I didn't move. Like it was nothing. "I said leave us alone." I started at her. The tall girl pushed me to the ground and held Lapis tightly. "You damn bitch. How could you leave me?" Lapis tried to free herself. "N-no Jasper leave me alone! I-i hate you!" The blue one started to cry. I clenched my fist. That's enough! I stood up and kicked Jasper right in her face. She dropped Lapis with a surprised face. She got angry. "You're so dead!" She ran towards me. Now that's my chance! I blocked her punches and kicked her again. She punched me again but this time I was to slow. She hit me in the face. Blood was spreading on her shirt. I could feel the horrible taste in my mouth. Lapis didn't move. She was paralysed. Jasper hit me a few times until someone screamed our names. "JASPER, PERIDOT STOP!" Jasper stopped. I did the same. Mrs. Sugelite was standing in front of us. "Principal, now." She pushed us to the principal. I looked back. Lapis was sitting on the ground and looked at me with a sad expression. She reached one hand to me while she was crying. I'm sorry Lapis.

By the principal

"What were you two thinking!? Fighting at lunchtime!?" Mrs. White-Diamond was furious. Jasper was quiet. "Mrs. Diamond I'm so sorry for what happend. Jasper attacked me and Lapis Lazuli. Please let me go." I begged her. She hesitated. "Ugh fine but only under one condition. You two will clean the halls. Peridot one week and Jasper two!" I nodded a few times. Jasper just groaned. "Now go to Mrs. Quarz." I opened the door. "Oh and Jasper! If you try to attack them again I'll suspend you from school!"
I closed the door. Jasper was standing in front of me. Looking at me all disgusted. "Listen nerd. I don't know how you could hold up with me but if I see you with my Lapis again I'll crush you!" I rolled my eyes. "Try it." I left her.

Timeskip to Rose

"OH MY GOD. PERIDOT ARE YOU OKAY!?" Rose looked worried at me. I looked away. "I'm fine." She sighed heavily. "Let me take some band-aids. You're bleeding." She finished after a few minutes. "Here take some pills." I waved at her and left the room. When I opened the door a blue person was standing in front of me. "Lapis are you okay?" She looked away, hugging herself. "More like are YOU okay?" Lapis looked at me again. A few tears were streaming down her cheeks. "Don't cry! I'm okay!" I tried to calm her down. She hugged me. I hugged back. "I'm sorry this is all my fault. Jasper won't leave you alone with me. You should stop talking to me." Lapis sobbed in my shoulder. "No way! I'll be here for you. I don't care about Jasper." Lapis smiled a little bit.
After that we went to the cafeteria.
Everyone were waiting for us. "Where were you two?" Amethyst asked with a smirk. "Jasper tried to kill us, I was by the principal, visited Mrs. Quarz and now I'm here talking to you." I said quickly and sat in the corner of the table. No one said something. Lapis was sitting across from me. She's staring at me again. "Hey Ame. Can I talk to you alone?" Lapis asked her. She nodded. "We'll be right back!" The chubby girl waved to us. They left the room. That's really strange.

Lapis's POV
I can't hold back anymore. I looked at Peridot while she was eating. She protected me from Jasper even though she knew that she's too weak. She fought back just for me. I looked at her lips. They looked so soft. I bit my own lips, a heat was spreading through my body. Fuck...
"Hey Ame can I talk to you alone?" She nodded. We went to the toilets. I looked at myself in the mirror. "So what's going on Laz?" Amethyst leaned against the door. "I'm fucking in love with Peridot." She started to laugh. "I knew it! Pearl owns me five bucks now!" I sighed. "What should I do? She's straight." Ame was thinking for a moment. "Dunno. You could try it on saturday at the party." She shrugged. "How?" I looked at her. "Ooh you'll see." She left the room.
