There was once a group of five friends who sat around a table in a booth in their favorite cafe. They usually sat here for hours on end. Talking, laughing, living their lives. But one day, they noticed something they never noticed before
A door
Just a lonely door there in the wall. The friends had never noticed it before but there it was.
"I wonder what's behind that door" the first, Marcus, said curiously.
"it's just a door dude" another, Johnny, said
"Yes I get that. But how long has it been there?"
To that, Johnny simply shrugged.
"Does it matter?" Elizabeth asked
"No. It doesn't matter. But I'm curious" Marcus replied
"Then why don't you check it out?" Lindsey said
"I don't know. What if we aren't allowed?" Sadie asked
"One way to find out" Marcus said, standing up.
The four others watched as Marcus approached the door. He opened it and his eyes widened.
"Woah" he muttered before entering the door.
It shut behind him.
The next stood up, Johnny. He couldn't stop the curiousity from getting to him. He walked to the door and opened it.
"Holy crap" he breathed, walking into it.
The door closed once more
The three girls looked at each other.
"Should we..?" Elizabeth asked, pointing at the door.
"We still don't know if we're allowed to do that" Sadie said.
"Well I'm good with taking chances!" Lindsey said, standing. She approached the door and hesitantly grabbed for the door knob.
She opened the door and exclaimed "wow!" And hurried in.
Elizabeth looked at Sadie and stood
"No no" Sadie muttered, not wanting her to leave too.
Elizabeth ignored her, her curiosity entrancing her like magic. She walked toward the door, opened it and gasped softly. She looked at Sadie before going through the door too
Sadie bit her lip and looked at the table. What was behind that door? Surely it wasn't that exciting... But all of her friends seemed so wowed by it.
She looked around the cafe. Not a soul seemed to care about her four friends vanishing through a door. Not one of them seemed to notice the door at all.
She sighed and got up. Finally deciding to follow her friends into mystery.
She slowly walked toward the door, looking around the cafe. No one noticed her get up.
She grasped the door knob and took a deep breath before opening it.
What she saw was shocking.
And beautiful.
There was a whole world behind the door. Filled with an assortment of magical creatures and plants and things beyond your imagination
She gasped softly when she saw her friends playing with the different animals
She went through the door, intent on joining them.
As she did, the door closed behind her though no one had touched it.
The five friends were never seen again. All so enchanted by the world that they could never leave.
This is what was set down as a trap for many years.
Days went by and the existence of the five friends faded from the real world, no one remembered their names.
The door stood forgotten, waiting for its next victim.
It wasn't until a new group of three very different friends sat in the booth at the cafe that one of them looked over and said
"I wonder what's behind that door?"
Then the magic within the door sparked again.
