Matt stopped everything. The doctor continued on but Matt didn't listen. Immediately Matt got up from the bed and ripped the I.V. from his arm. He ran to the elevator with is backpack of clothes. He put his pants on and shirt in the elevator, throwing the hospital gown to the corner. His eyes were watering now from tears and blood was running down his arm from the I.V. As soon as he made it out the door, he could hear the lady from the front desk yelling to Matt, but he didn't stop. He waved down the first taxi he saw and got in. He told the taxi to take him anywhere but where he was at and handed the driver $20. He sat in the backseat quietly untill he got dropped off at some ghetto neighborhood. Instantly Matt saw an abondoned house and walked to it. The windows were boarded up and there was no front door. Matt walked in and up the stairs. Once on the second story, Matt sat against a wall and but his head on his knees. Matts lip started quivering and his eyes started filling up with tears. Then he let everything go. Matt started sobbing. His sobs could probably be heard the next house over. His phone started blowing up with calls from his parents and texts from his siblings. He didn't respond. Matt continued crying for hours more untill he picked up his phone, ignoring all the missed calls. He went to his contacts list and called the only person he knew he could trust. Still crying, Shawn picked up the phone.

"Matt?" Matt continued crying into the phone. "Dude are you okay? Whats wrong?" Matt still didn't say anything. "Matt?" Finally Matt spoke. "I.....I....." Shawn paused "you what Matt?" Matt finally forced the words. " I have cancer." Matt cryed harder after this, and Shawn didn't know what to say back. "Are you serious Matt? Is this a joke?" Matt continued crying and Shawn knew it wasn't a joke. Matt finally spoke again inbetween sobs. "Why.... Me???" He sobbed again. Shawn was still in shock. "Oh my god dude." Shawn said. "Im fliying down there Matt, I promise." Matt still cried on to Shawn and kept speaking in small rants inbetween sobs. Shawn did his best to agree with Matt although he had no idea what Matt was saying. The call ended when Matt heard sirens off in the distance. They were getting closer. Matt walked to the window and saw two police cars pull up in front of the house. He didn't try to run or hide. He watched out the window with tears in his eyes. He heard footsteps coming up the stairs and someone stood behind him, but it wasn't a police officer. Matt turned around slowly, letting out small whipers. His mom stood there in front of him. She was crying too. Finally Matt ran up to her and started hugging her. He began sobbing once again as he burried his face into her shoulder. She held him tightly as he did her. Matt never wanted her to let go. He wanted her to hold him forever like he was a kid again. They continued hugging and crying for what seemed like hours untill Matt got the courage to walk out of the house with his mom. He still breathed heavily and sniffled with few tears. His whole family hugged him on the sidewalk in front of the house. Matt took deep breaths to keep from crying. Finally they let go and got back in the car to drive Matt back to the hospital. Everything was silent, and nobody spoke a word. Matt looked out the window and started replying the words over and over again in his head. "Brain Cancer" He looked down at his feet and lets the tears land on his shoes. Matt's life would never be the same again.
