Tied Together With A Smile

Monika Salem was my best friend since we were children. Her family had its share of problems.

Her parents were divorced and she lived with her father since her mother pleaded insanity.

On normal days like this I would wait at my door until she knocked on it.

Hearing a knock I open the door and grab my bag.

"Good morning Matthew." Monika smiled with her green eyes

"Morning, Monika." I smiled

You couldn't help but smiled with Monika around.

Monika was sunshine all bottled up in a gorgeous softball loving girl.

A girl whom I was in love with.

She didn't know I never told her.

I was too afraid. How could a girl like her love me?

"Ready to go?" She asked

I nodded and walked out the door.

My father was abroad my mother at work.

She left at 5in the mornings and didn't come back till 10 at night.

I rarely saw my parents but I didn't mind I liked being alone.

We got  to school parting our separate ways.

I went over to my friends, Monika went to hers kissing their cheeks.

Geez this was senior year. 1 more year and college bound it was.

"Our last year!" My friend Owen smiled

"Yeah." I smiled

Monika and her friends walked over to us.

"Hey, do you guys want to go to a movie tonight?" Monika smiled

Her three friends smiled.

"Of course." We all chocked out shocked that girls like this would actually ask us out

Monika smiled "We'll see you then."

Monika's friends were Lilly Phillips ,Maggie Kittler and Anna Bernhardt.

"See you later, Owen." Maggie giggled and walked off

Owen smiled cheekily and I laughed.

Monika gave me one last glance and walked off smiling.

After school I walked Monika home.

I led her to her door.

The door swung open and there stood her father.

"Monika, get inside." Her father said

"Yes, goodbye Matthew." She said

The door shut and I was left standing there.

Later that night we met up at the movie theater.

The theater was empty except us we watched a horror movie.

Monika jumped at a few parts and grabbed for my hand.

She continued to hold it for the rest of the movie.

After the movie we walked out Monika smiled at me.

"Thank you, I had such a great time."

"No, I had a great time thank you." I said

"Well goodnight." She smiled and leaned up kissing my lips

"Oooooh." My friends Owen, Jake and Sam said

Lilly was with Jake, Anna with Sam, Maggie with Owen, me with Monika.

Monika walked to her car,and all the girls got in.

All the girls wore similar bracelets that were red.

Must be a friendship thing, I thought to myself.

When the girls left,we piled into Jake's car.

I laid in my bed thinking of Monika and the kiss we shared.

"We can't tell them!"

"Why not?"

"We'll be discovered. When we started this, we promised that we would keep this a secret."

"But I love him I can't keep this a secret forever."

"You know what the book said, he's the last one to die, Monika."

Welcome to my new horror novel as you see things are already heating up and will continue to heat up throughout this novel.

This is my first horror novel don't kill me please.

The media shows all the characters so what if they're from Doki Doki Literature Club?!
