'I was there' she screeched almost as if she was about to burst out in tears. She couldn't believe Jo wouldn't believe her. "you were here " Jo said firmly "but..but..I.." Jo interrupted quickly "you were breathing but your eyes were shut motionlessly". How could this be Avery thought? It seemed so authentic. "It doesn't matter now Avery as long as you're okay"
