I stretch out my body as I yawn myself away. I hum as my bones crack and muscles continue to stretch I slowly open my eyes and when I love to sit up, I felt a strong arm latch around my torso.

"What the-"

I wiggle around in my spot to face Duke to see him peacefully sleeping. His dark brown locks went into his face and would fly up whenever he released a long breath. He subconsciously pulls my closer and rests his face against my shoulder.

"What time is it?" I ask myself.

I turn to my side and reach out for my phone. Once I grab it, the screen lights up to reveal three missed calls from Dwight in the early morning, a text from Audrey and a text from Nathan.

"It seems like you are a popular woman in the mornings," Duke says in his morning, scruffy voice.

I nearly jump out of skin at the sound of his voice.

"I forgot how jumpy you were in the mornings." He said.

He flexed his arm against me and buried his face against my neck.

"You're like a life sized pillow," He says.

"Thank you?"

My phone started to ring and Audrey's name came up on the screen.

I groan as I answer the phone.

"We need your help here at the station." She says.

Duke groans and says:

"Why? Why do you need her?"

"Because do you know of anyone else who can move things with her mind?" Audrey ask.

Duke rolls his eyes at her comment and Audrey asks:

"What are you doing at Duke's anyways?

"Don't worry about it," I say.

"Alright, I'll be right there." I add.

I hang up and climb my way out of Duke's arms.

"I hate how much this town needs you," He says.

"Well, it is what it is. I'll be back later in to check up on you- unless you want me to stay. I can totally help over the phone." I say.

"No, no, it's fine. Other people need you." He encourages.

I pull him in for a hug and hum as his warm arms embrace me. He holds me as I run circles on his back. I pull away and walk toward the bathroom.

"Hey Y/N," he calls.

I look over my shoulder and he adds:

"I love you,"

"I love you too," I say with a smile.

I walk into the bathroom and close the door behind me.

It's been three days since I left Dwight's apartment, and we never really talked about our argument. We just collaborated on a case and left it at that; but there were moments where we catch each other's longing gaze. To be honest, I think we should talk about it. So I drove to his apartment when I know he would be there. I knock on the door and wait for him to open the door.

After a few minutes, I opened the door and call his name. The apartment was empty, quiet and had no traces of Dwight for almost three days, which was when I last saw him. I go to the coffee maker and felt the glass container with the back of my hand and noticed that it was as cold as ice. I sniff the coffee and it smelled like it was longer than a day old. I go into that bedroom and saw the bed tightly made together, Dwight always has some of his army traditions follow him home.

The bed hasn't been sat on and there were no signs of a struggle anywhere. I felt my heart sink in my chest and immediately check the floorboards for any signs of the stones being taken. His vest, chief of police jacket or his () wasn't on their normal hooks, which means that he was taken while he was in the field.

I speed dial Audrey and the phone kept ringing.

"Come on Audrey, pick up." I say to myself.

On the last possible ring, she answers and I say:

"Finally! I thought you were never going to answer."

"What the problem?" She asks

"There's been a kidnapping." I say.

"What? Where? Do you know who?"

"It's Dwight," I say, closing the bedroom door as I walk out,

"Oh come on, Y/N. Who in their right mind, would kidnap a beast like Dwight?" Audrey asks.

"I don't know, but I know that he hasn't been home in three days, which was the same duration that we last saw him." I explain.

"He's probably out hunting with his friends, clearing his mind from the fact that you are upset with him." She says.

"Audrey, just put out a damn PB on Dwight. I'd rather be safe than sorry." I snap.

"Alright, alright. I'll do it, calm down. What makes you so sure that he's missing? Or kidnapped?" She states.

"Because I love him; I know when there's something wrong." I state before hanging up the phone.
