Tin and Pete were in the Library, reading books as reference material for their college assignments. They both read philosophy books from two different authors. They have been there for almost an hour, without talking. But Pete realized that this silence was different, there was something that felt suffocating here.
"Okay Tin ..... what happened to you, dude ???." - Pete
It has been 4 days since Can's rejection, and this is the third day Tin began to go to college. Pete had been watching Tin's changes since yesterday but held back asking, hoping Tin would return to being 'live' as usual. Or rather, 'live' like when he started to get close to Can.
"What do you mean? I'm fine?" Tin said, still pretending to be serious about reading the book before him.
"Oh come on, Tin. You can't lie to me." - Pete
"Since when did you like to interfere in other people's business, Pete?" - Tin
"It's only your business, Tin," Pete answered, chuckling.
"Whatever." - Tin
"Does this have anything to do with Can?" - Pete
Tin's body immediately stiffened and it had answered Pete's question.
"Do you want to talk to me about it?" - Pete
Tin is quiet and pretends to seriously reading book.
"You don't want to talk, but your aura is like ready to kill someone. Can also looks weird lately." - Pete
Tin immediately turned to look at Pete, just as Pete had expected.
"Can ... how about ... him?," Tin asked stumblingly.
Only 1 question about Can is enough to make his body feel warm and painful at the same time.
"He's fine. Physically."
"What do you mean physically? What is not alright? Why is it ??," Tin bombarded.
"Relax Tin. Ask one by one. As I said, he is fine physically, meaning he is healthy. But lately he has changed. He is not greedy of food anymore. His cheerfulness and fussiness are also gone. He still acts cheerful and fussy in front of us, but when we don't pay too much attention to him, he would look sad and alienated. When we rebuked him, he would laugh again. But it wasn't the same laughter. Tin, what happened? Both of your behavior changes, starting at the same time. " - Pete
"I have to go, Pete. I'll email my assignment later. Bye Pete." - Tin
Without waiting for an answer from Pete, Tin already stood up and left the Library. Pete could only take a deep breath. Pete loved Tin, of course as a friend and brother. Pete knew all of Tin's suffering. Pete also knew, even though he was much weaker than Tin, but Tin was very dependent on him. At least as a listener and advisor. Pete Mom also loved Tin and thought of him as her child. Even his Mom had a crazy idea, asking Pete and Tin to date. But it can't be because they don't have feelings as lovers. Their relationship is pure as friends and relatives. In addition, there is now Ae, a man who has stolen and filled his heart, so there is no place for other names there.
